Friendly reminder that my man is a bad ass 💅 He has been working away to make all our garden dreams come true. Not limited to; but including my amazing bush bean planter so I don’t have to bend down to pick beans anymore. Getting old means back probs, and he made a solution. His soul radiates sacrifice for myself and our family, and I am so l get to call him mine. A year ago today @kittyriches and I sold our first home and made the trek to what I affectionately refer to as the “pseudo country”. I used words like “micro-homestead” like I knew what I was actually getting myself into. One year of imposter syndrome, not understanding how we got so lucky to be on this journey together, and own such a beautiful peace of the 🌍. One year of life altering tough choices. One year of tearing down old buildings, pulling weeds, late night fire pit hang outs, learning new skills, painting, mowing. One year of what I would say are some of the best and worst days of my life. But this home has brought me a peace I never knew. I love you @kittyriches and how I told you we would never move again, and 9 days later we put in an offer. You push me out of my comfort zone, and take on my impulsive tasks with VERY minimal complaints 😜. Here to document our first garden season. The deer have found the garden (poor cucumbers 🥒 🥹) It has brought us so much joy/abundance. Thank you my love @kittyriches for all of your hard work. We made these beds out of 0% plan, and 98% recycled materials from our murder shed that had to be torn down. We have already decided to expand next year. Truly a dream.

Now if I could just finish resurfacing the greenhouse 🥴

10 years of waking up every morning to you. 10 years of traveling. 10 years of honey-do lists. 10 years (well, 13) of me not having to mow a lawn. Yep, I have no idea how to work a mower. 🤣 10 years of rescue animals. 10 years of watching you be the most kind/patient friend and lover. 10 years of growth even through the rocky shit. 10 years of happiness. 10 years of being the luckiest person alive.

When life gives you morels… make a quiche.🫣 here goes @kittyriches first time eating a morel.

Our dream home has come with a few surprises in the form of endless manual labor, and surprise treats on the land. I used my aunts suggestion of returning the wash water back to the land to encourage future morel production. I also had less AP flour than expected l, so buckwheat crust it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ taken in Logan County by @chefbreezus

First round of Odyssey De Culinaire at @riverspiritcasino was a success! Got the pleasure of joining a group of powerhouse Tulsa chefs while hanging with the @prostartprogram mentees.
