Private Chef | WNC Mountains ⛰️
Luxury dining for @airbnb & @merakiescape guests
Backstage chef for touring artists 🎤

POSTS STORIES REELS

Well, I’m packing my chef knives... but not to go prepare brunch in someone’s AirBnB this time…

Your girl is being flown out to work backstage as a chef for the Usher & Chris Brown concert in September!

The best part? I literally didn’t even apply for this gig! Another chef saw my work, reached out personally, and made me an incredible offer to join his team.😎

I’m so pumped for this adventure, but don’t worry, WNC! It won’t be a full-time position. I’ll still be here doing what I love most: creating memorable private dining experiences, cooking for you amazing people, and bringing a little magic to your table.

Cheers to new opportunities for professional growth- and more fun backstage chef gig runs in my future!🎶✈️

A little introduction for those who are new around here!👋🏼
Hi! I’m Chef Heather, based in the mountains of WNC!

I’ve spent my entire adult life in the food business- from owning a traditional eastern NC oyster bar (before it was flooded out of business)… to starting a successful food truck/catering business I ran for nearly a decade… to now creating private luxury chef experiences in clients’ homes, vacation rentals, and special events.👩‍🍳

These days, I’m also getting to do some pretty exciting things, including cooking for guests at their *very own private waterfall* at Meraki Escape… which was just voted as 2026’s BEST Private Couples’ Wilderness Retreat in the LUXlife Resorts & Retreats Awards!🥇

I also get to cook backstage for touring artists & crews, which allows me to work alongside a handful of other incredibly talented chefs all over.🎤

But honestly, my favorite part of this business is still the simple stuff: good food, beautiful tables, happy people, and getting to be part of someone’s celebration or special weekend. I believe in cooking with fresh, hyper-local ingredients, creating menus specifically for the people I’m feeding, and making a meal feel like an experience.

So if you’re new here, give my page a like, follow along on my private chef journey, share my posts, and if you’re planning a special gathering, vacation, dinner, brunch, retreat, or celebration, please keep me in mind. I’d love the opportunity to cook for you!

Thanks for being here,
🤍Chef Heather by @chefheatherlawicki

TW: Ai generated joke.
Private Chef life is WILD.
One day you’re prepping dinner in an Airbnb kitchen…
The next you’re asked to push a heavy catering cart across a runway.😅✈️
Never a dull moment!

This is exactly the kind of escape we hope to create. ❤️

A little quiet, a lot of time together, and thoughtful moments that make an anniversary feel extra special. From a couples massage beside the waterfall to dinner prepared right in the cabin, we love knowing Matt and his wife were able to truly slow down and enjoy each other.

Thank you for spending such a meaningful weekend with us. We’ll be so happy to welcome you back. 🌿 by @chefheatherlawicki

Every great bite begins long before it ever reaches the table.🍷

Last night’s Deluxe WNC Charcuterie & Wine Pairing Experience at @merakiescape was a celebration of exceptional local flavors and the beauty of fall in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The first photo is a peek behind the scenes at where it all begins: three hand-sketched board layouts in ink, drawn in my trusty notepad. Every placement, garnish, texture, and flavor combination is considered before I ever begin assembling a board. When an experience is served in three tasting courses, each one needs its own personality while flowing seamlessly into the next. And the wine? It’s never an afterthought. Every bite is thoughtfully chosen to complement the wine being poured, balancing flavors, textures, and contrasts to make each pairing feel intentional.

Three courses. Three North Carolina wines. Countless little details. I began with Dead Men Tell No Tales, a white wine from my friends at @sanctuaryvineyards in Jarvisburg, NC, followed by Cardinal’s Crest, a winemaker’s red blend from @biltmorewines, and finished with a 2022 rosé, also from Biltmore.

Across the three boards, my guests enjoyed highlights including my smoked WNC rainbow trout dip, American Wagyu jerky, fig goat cheese, salty prosciutto roses, fine chocolates, and a thoughtfully curated selection of accompaniments designed to bring each wine to life.

Luxury isn’t just what’s on the board… It’s the care behind every detail and the story behind every pairing. Book your Deluxe WNC Charcuterie & Wine Pairing Experience today!

🍂Soup season is sneakin’ up on us, y’all, and I’m here for it!

There’s something about this time of year that makes a kitchen full of comfort food feel especially good. Today was all about helping a client get ahead of the week with a little variety and a whole lot of deliciousness!

Here’s what I cooked up:
🥣 Hearty Sirloin & 10-Vegetable Soup: a big, generous batch of the kind of soup that makes you look forward to lunchtime.
🍚 Chicken & Roasted Purple Sweet Potato Bowls: with kale, blistered cherry tomatoes, snap peas, brown rice and quinoa, finished with a maple almond butter tamari sauce.
🌮 Southwest Black Angus Beef Taco Bowls: seasoned ground beef, sweet corn, black beans, cherry tomatoes, brown rice and quinoa, with chipotle lime crema for drizzling.

And because a little prepping today can make a busy week so much easier, I stocked their freezer with a couple of ready-to-bake sheet pan dinners:
🥦 Teriyaki chicken & broccoli with carrots, snap peas and bell peppers.
🍁 Maple Dijon-marinated pork tenderloin with butternut squash, Brussels sprouts and cranberries.

This is just one of the reasons I love being a chef.
It isn’t just about preparing good food… It’s about giving my clients something incredibly valuable back: their precious TIME.
It’s knowing that after a long day, they don’t have to start dinner from scratch, wonder what they’re going to eat for lunch, or spend their weekend meal prepping for the week ahead. They can walk into the kitchen, choose something nourishing & delicious, and get on with the parts of life they actually *want* to be spending time on.

I love preparing meals that feel comforting without being boring, wholesome without sacrificing flavor, and thoughtfully prepared to make everyday life just a little easier.

Because good food should do more than fill your plate. It should make your life better. And if soup season is sneakin’ up on us, consider this your reminder that your future self would probably love a refrigerator full of ready-to-eat meals. 😉

Tonight was one of those dinners that reminds me exactly why I love what I do!

I had the pleasure of collaborating with the Jeep tour team at Asheville Tours & Excursions to cook dinner for their clients at The Barn at Penrose’s Grand Lodge… and what a perfect setting for a private chef dinner!

We started with a crackling bonfire & cocktail-hour crostinis: hot honey whipped goat cheese & fig, and shaved roast beef with horseradish ricotta & crispy shallot.

Then came dinner: an elevated wedge salad to start, followed by a meal built for a mountain evening:
• Medium-rare beef tenderloin with rich Gorgonzola cream sauce
• Herb-roasted chicken breast
• Tender broccolini & wild mushrooms
• Garlicky Yukon gold mashed potatoes
• Warm local bread & butter
… And because dinner should always end sweetly: bourbon caramel apple tarts with vanilla ice cream for dessert!

There’s something special about taking a beautiful destination, bringing people together around a table, and serving a delicious meal that becomes another great memory of their trip to WNC. ⛰️

I especially loved working alongside the Asheville Tours & Excursions guys. They REALLY know how to show their clients a great time, and I was honored to be the culinary part of their experience tonight.

And The Barn at Penrose’s Grand Lodge? Absolutely made for this kind of evening. Rustic, elevated, warm and welcoming!

Thank you to Asheville Tours & Excursions for trusting me with your guests. I loved being part of the experience, and I’m already looking forward to the next collab! 🙌🏼

🚨Attention all short term rental hosts!🚨

Is your Airbnb or VRBO kitchen actually ready to be cooked in?
A kitchen can look beautiful and still be missing the things someone needs to execute a proper meal.

As a private chef, I literally cook in short-term rentals for a living. I’m a proud Airbnb partner, and when I’m not cooking in vacation rentals, I travel as a backstage chef for touring artists. I know ALL the little things hosts often overlook, as well as the things that can make or break a home cook or chef’s experience in your kitchen.

Trust me, I’ve stepped in absolutely gorgeous million dollar homes that didn’t have a single cutting board or wine bottle opener, zero steak knives, no whisk or pot holders… You name it! 😅

To better prepare hosts, I’m pleased to offer Short-Term Rental Kitchen Cookability Consultations throughout WNC:
I’ll come to your property and do a top-to-bottom assessment of your kitchen from a professional chef’s perspective, including cookware, knives, prep tools, serving pieces, appliances, storage and overall workflow.

You’ll receive a customized list of items you’re missing or could improve, including those “I never thought of that!” items that make a kitchen complete.

Investment: $150
Includes: On-site consultation + customized stocking list + complimentary knife sharpening

Having a beautiful kitchen is really nice.
… But a fully-stocked kitchen that folks can actually cook in is even better!
