What A Way To Start 2024

To this day, we’re still pinching ourselves for getting the opportunity to film with some of the world’s most highly acclaimed chefs and restaurants - Three Corners Dinner.

@chefzennonwijlens head chef and co-owner @parisbutter , @chefhoneyman owner of @restaurantlepetitleon , and @rwmckinlay executive chef of @canoerestaurant come together for two nights of what can only be described as a truly global collaboration with humility that cannot be overstated.

Another big thank you to @orakingsalmon for sponsoring this production.

Stay tuned for the full documentary set to premiere soon. by @chefhoneyman

It’s hard to put the last few days into words.

From as long as I can remember being a Chef it has always been the ultimate goal to receive a Michelin star. Having spent most of my career in Australia and New Zealand it set the goal posts further back.

5 years ago Sina and I bought Le Petit Léon which was just open at the time 8 weeks of the year. She said to me if you want a star then we need to make that happen!
As we built this business this was never our main objective but it was definitely on our goals list.

To be able to cook free with creativity you have to have a solid structure around you. Sina, with her team built this for the kitchen team and allowed us to flourish. To create the experience we have today the first half relies on the food and the rest is on the shoulders of the service team do deliver that experience day in day out with heart and a smile. This star belongs to our team, past and present and we could never have done this without Sina.

Beyond our team we could not have achieved this with out the support of our local producers, suppliers, families and most importantly customers. Customers who had faith in our vision and who have supported us through our evolution to where we are today. A grand merci to you all 🙏

A big shout out to Zennon and our Paris Butter team in New Zealand, they allowed me to have full focus when we were in France and countless supportive phone calls and inspiration.

We are so humbled to be a part of our little village Saint Leon sur Vezere in the mighty South -West France. When you visit our region it is easy to see why we fell in love with France. A huge thank you too to the French restaurant community, we have been greeted by you all with open arms and support.. your solidarity is a true inspiration.

We have been so overwhelmed with support over the last few days, we could not have done any of this without you all ❤️ by @chefhoneyman

A Michelin star marks a moment, but no milestone is reached alone.

A film celebrating the people, craft and dedication behind. The next chapter is ours to shape. At Paris Butter, the search continues.

We got a Michelin Star ⭐️

Honestly still feels a bit unreal even typing that.

Last night was a huge moment for Paris Butter, for our team, and for hospitality here in New Zealand.

This really belongs to everyone who’s been part of the journey.

To our team, past and present, thank you. The effort, the care, the standards you hold yourselves to every day… it’s everything. From the kitchen to the floor, everyone who’s been through our doors has helped shape what this place is. This is yours as much as it is ours.

To our suppliers and producers, we’re lucky to work with you. Thanks for trusting us with what you do and for constantly inspiring us.

To our families and friends, thanks for backing us, especially when things get hectic behind the scenes.

And to our guests, thank you for coming in, for supporting us, and for letting us do what we love. It means a lot.

A Michelin Star is something we’ve always respected, so to receive one is pretty special.

This is just the beginning. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited for what’s ahead ❤️ by @chefhoneyman

We love what we do, we love it even more when we get to do it as a family ❤️

Thank you @capstgeorgeshotelresort we left with memories we will take with us forever.
