No better way to close out March than with a tribute to our favorite (Irish) dessert. Like a true #Irish gal, we couldn’t make a menu without a #potato dessert. Steamed, baked, riced, then whipped to creamy perfection and fried. Sitting on chamomile cream and topped with dried yogurt, candied thyme, and dusted with powdered sugar. To our Lady friends, family and supporters: We wish to say goodnight, not goodbye. I remain proud of the brand we have tirelessly built over the course over 10 years ago. We have made a home that has lasted regardless of any address, any particular space or the walls that contain what makes it so special. That has every bit to do with the team of exceptional chefs, waiters, hostesses and bartenders working alongside me each day. Most of whom have been here right from the first dinner service. My love for Detroit has always been just as important to me as the love and joy I have for the food I dream up and prepare for our customers. A restaurant made by Detroiters for Detroiters was our goal and we met our goal and surpass it, time after time, because of the people who have come to enjoy our little romantic home from the start. Because of our supporters, Lady of the House has made its mark in communities and places far beyond our city’s limits. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. While, after careful consideration, Lady will not be reopening in its Core City location, the show won’t stop. Despite extensive efforts to move forward in its current space, the path to reopening has been blocked for an extended period of time, making it untenable to continue at the current site. The decision to shutter operations was not made lightly, particularly during the holiday season, a time that holds deep importance for both the team and our families. As part of this transition, I have chosen to part ways with my former business partner of 8 years, while retaining full ownership of the Lady of the House brand. This step allows the Lady brand to move out of a toxic situation and refocus time, energy, and resources toward a healthier and more sustainable future, and community-focused purpose. Thank you, again, for your support of LOH over the years and so many more to come.   From our family to yours, may this holiday season be one filled with love, community and comfort.
