Two new seatings to The Ordinary have been added to the @kingbird_and_the_ordinary calendar.

November 21: Game and Forest
$100/ticket
Featuring North American species of game and foraged ingredients.

December 12: Holiday Party
$125/ticket (10% of ticket sales will be donated. see below)
In this edition of The Ordinary, we'll start with a grazing table upon arrival for guests to shake off the cold, grab a drink, and mingle for a bit before dinner starts.

This isn't necessarily common knowledge, but I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia at 18 months. I was lucky enough to go into remission at 3 years old, but some of the kids I met while in the hospital were not. I don't have many memories from that period, but I do remember them.

During my treatment, the Children's Miracle Network donated something to help a very young child make chemotherapy more tolerable; a small tv and vhs. The simplest things can have the biggest impact on a young life.

Now that I'm older and have become a husband, father (with another on the way), and have been lucky enough to follow my passion in cooking, I feel compelled to give back. To show those that are battling sickness that I'm living proof that hope is there.

10% of the ticket sales to the December 12 seating of The Ordinary will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network to remember those we've lost and to tell those that are fighting a bigger fight than anyone should have to fight, "You are Strong. You are Brave. You are Loved. You are NOT Alone."

A new date has been added for The Ordinary.

On October 24 at 6pm, we return to a single seating with a fully French inspired menu that follows the classical coursed dinner format.

Something we're especially excited about: One of our farm partners had a surplus of roosters and we simply couldn't resist the opportunity to prepare a classic for the main course. A True Coq au Vin (Rooster braised in Wine), served with Pomme Puree a la Robuchon.

Our large-format, shareable menu item on the new dinner menu. Whole Roasted Chicken for 2-4. Limited Availability each night, Wednesday through Friday, 5pm - 8:30pm.

Basted with duck fat several times while in the oven, we then save all of the delicious resting juices and fat after and add Dijon mustard, shallots, lemon, and fresh thyme to make a bright vinaigrette that balances the richness of the chicken beautifully. Pair this with sarladaise potatoes, spiced squash, and a bottle of Chardonnay for an awesome, elevated comfort meal with friends. taken in Kingbird and The Ordinary by @chefkenmiller

This date begins a new phase for our ticketed dinner series: we are offering two seating times once per month, rather than multiple dates to make some room for our upcoming regular Saturday Dinner Service starting July 25 from 4p - 9p.

Tickets are $100 per person. The price includes gratuity and the entire menu served in several courses at a communal table.

Tickets are available for the following seating times:
4pm
7:30pm

These dinners have continued to sell out pretty quickly and we are humbled by the response and the support.

As a new independent restaurant, we're constantly looking for ways to evolve and grow with our small team. If you've joined us for our weekday daytime menu, you'll notice that this menu is decidedly more focused. When it comes to menu design, our ethos is centered on changing our dishes frequently with what's available in any given season. Don't worry, we will bring back our brunchy items on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Some folks see this as inconsistency at the surface, but our consistency lies in how we cook and provide excellent service. To utilize what nature has to offer is simply the best way to eat in our opinion. Since everything we serve is hand-made, we prefer to offer a smaller menu that we can focus our energy on creating the best possible iteration of a given dish. by @chefkenmiller

We expect to have our liquor license in early July, so we are increasing the ticket price to accommodate the extra staffing required to provide beverage service.

Summer is upon us.

A little late in posting this, but we got our first round of Summer vegetables from @coreylakeorchards and we are pumped to have some new things to work with. As much as we love the grassy, oniony flavors of Spring, we welcome some heartier players to the game.

Our beloved Fried Asparagus has been given some down time to make way for Summer Vegetable Tempura.
Gently cooked local vegetables surrounded by a delicate, lacy crispness, dusted with mushroom spice, and served with charred scallion aioli for dipping.

We'll be adding another July seating to The Ordinary this week. by @chefkenmiller
