Ode to Zion from TT

Zion, my dear nephew, my heart aches for you,
For you were a soul so pure, so kind, so true.
Born into this world with a spirit so free,
You touched so many lives, and brought such joy to me.

Talented, smart and athletic, you excelled in all you did,
From playing the drums, baseball, basketball, rollerblading to skateboarding, you never hid.
Your love for extreme sports, your passion so bright,
You soared above the rest, like a kite.

Your mother’s apple, her entire world,
Your father’s pride, his little boy, his pearl,
To us all, you brought laughter and love,
A spirit so pure, sent from above.

Two years ago, gun violence took your sight,
But you were a fighter, holding on so tight,
You stayed optimistic and resilient you continued to dream,
Pursuing being a professional skateboarder, Yaddamean!

Zion, you’re an inspiration to us all,
Your resilience, your spirit, your love, so tall,
We’re honored to have known you, to have loved you,
Our hearts ache, but we’ll forever cherish you.

In my memory, You’d fall to sleep but as soon as the movie was over,
Popping your head up and say “again TT” we’d watch Spider-Man all over,
To feel you in my arms once more doing your flips,
To hear you tech deck… the sweet sounds of your finger board clicks!

That time when you and the twins fell off the skateboards coming downhill too fast,
You wore those scars with a badge of honor that will forever last.

You’re our angel now, watching over us,
Your spirit so bright, it fills us with love and trust,
Don’t worry about your mom and dad,
We’ll watch over them, and keep them glad.

Rest in peace, dear Zion, my nephew so dear,
Your memory will forever be so clear,
I love you always and forever more,
Until we meet again, soar high and explore.
I know if your skateboard hasn’t arrived yet, you’re so crafty and will make a tech deck.

I love you past this life, Forever Z ♾️ Happy 21st Birthday my baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️
