Its cliché to say “words can’t describe how I feel right now” but hey these are the facts. God put people into your life that change your life forever and I can say without a doubt that I was blessed the first time I met you. You pushed me to be better in every aspect of my life. You provided me with opportunities and experiences that were life changing. When you stepped into a room you demanded respect and when you spoke people not only listened but paid attention to every word that was uttered. Some people just point fingers when they have a certain title or position but you would get in the trenches and get your hands dirty every single time! You showed me what it means to be a leader and not a boss in this culinary world! I admired your work ethic and the way you demanded the best out of yourself and everyone around you. For the past 14 years you took me under your wing and instilled nothing but hard work, dedication and determination. It was you who guided me through this culinary journey. It was you who told me to take your profession serious because it would take you to places you would never imagine. It was you who told me to go to University and get that degree. I remember calling you and asking “Mrs. G when you gonna give me an opportunity to represent the Bahamas on my own” you said “Kevyn you are not ready but you will be if you keep working” you had me doing the little things like demos at different festivals, working with you on projects behind the scenes and studying different Chef’s work and always asking me how would I make this better. You became #MYSECONDMOTHER❤️ and for that I am grateful. I am honored I got the opportunity to give you your flowers while you were here with us, but now I wish I could give you the entire field. I could go on and on and on but that still wouldn’t do you Justice! Thank you @islandboyinpr___ and @gibbydafarma242 for lending us a true giant of a human being! I love you @dazzlingdeedee! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! August 23rd 2022 8:24am 🤞🏽❤️‍🩹💯🙏🏽 taken in Forever and always by @chefpratt2

Day 2 of the @visitthebahamas and Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Global Sales Mission in New York City did not disappoint! Bigger, better, and full of energy at @halldeslumieres with over 200 persons in attendance . 🔥🇧🇸🗽

I showcased a special demo that brought the Bahamas and New York together on one plate — a Johnny Cake flatbread topped with coconut curry lobster and a smooth sweet potato purée, A Bahamian play on the iconic New York–style flatbread pizza. 🍕✨ Everyone had the chance to taste this culinary experience.

We closed the night with the vibrant spirit of Junkanoo, and the room lit up — everyone was smiling, dancing, and enjoying every moment.

Proud to represent the Bahamas once again. 🇧🇸✨

At The Legacy Castle, we shared our culture, flavors, sights, and sounds — showcasing a tropical conch salad culinary demo with my amazing “Suze-chef” @suze.bauer . Thank you to @chrystal_bethell and @lueylee for trusting me with the task of bringing a taste of home to New Jersey . 🌴🔥
