Today was a Good Day….Atlanta🤗. Thank you @fox5atlanta for having me on Good Day Atlanta this morning! What a fun experience. I can’t wait to return! #theRdistrict #PrivateChef #GoodDayAtlanta #Fox5 by @chefqtrob

Some of his answers surprised me 😂. #marriedlife #marriagehumour @zigrocky by @chefqtrob

I arrived carrying the weight of everyday life, and I’m leaving feeling lighter, clearer, and incredibly grateful.

Thank you, @iamdr.simmons, for curating one of the BEST spa getaways! Bringing 18 of your close friends together in Arizona was absolutely the right move…for ALL of us.

Spending several days at one of the country’s premier spa resorts gave me an opportunity to truly unplug and experience everything the property had to offer. From beautiful meals and incredible spa treatments to tightrope walking, yoga, water aerobics, water yoga, meditation, and trying things completely outside of my normal routine, I embraced it all.

And the laughter! Eighteen women together meant plenty of that. There were conversations, shared experiences, new memories, and moments that reminded me just how important it is to make room in life for joy. And REST. Let’s not forget the REST! That part was everything.

After more than 20 years in the spa and beauty industry, I’m accustomed to thinking about the experience from the professional side. This time, I had the opportunity to simply be the guest to receive, learn, indulge, and enjoy. And I appreciated every minute of it.

Sometimes luxury isn’t about having more. It’s having the time and space to slow down, breathe deeply, eat beautifully, move your body, laugh until it hurts, sleep without an alarm, and simply BE.

I’m heading home with a full heart, a clear mind, and some beautiful memories. Oletha, you understood the assignment. 🤍. Arizona, you were exactly what I needed. #sparesort #girlsgetaway by @chefqtrob

Yesterday concluded Parent Orientation with a spectacular Parent Parting Ceremony, where we, as parents, were instructed to simply “let go.”

For the last 18 years, as Caruso’s mother, I’ve been his eyes when he couldn’t see, his arms when he couldn’t reach, and his voice when he couldn’t speak. I’ve guided him, protected him, prayed over him, and done everything I could to prepare him for this very moment. And now, it’s time for me to let go.

It’s time for Caruso to discover the path that God has prepared specifically for him. And my guess is… God knows exactly what He’s doing. Caruso will be in good hands. He may only be about seven miles away from home, but he has stepped into an entirely different world, one where he will have to make his own decisions, find his own way, learn from his own mistakes, and continue becoming the man God has called him to be.

Seven miles away suddenly feels a whole lot farther to this mama. But I know those 18 years weren’t just about raising him, they were about preparing him to leave the nest.

So now, I’ll do what they told us to do: let go.

Not of being his mother. Not of praying for him. Not of loving him.

Just letting go enough to allow him to fly. ❤️

@morehouse1867 take good care of my boy. He’s ready. And I’m learning to be. #ManofMorehouse #BonnerScholar #elPresidente @four1fiveruso #ParentPartingCeremony by @chefqtrob

Babe, you had one busy rock star of a year!

You managed to be at one college graduation, two high school graduations, several chorus recitals, three proms, 2 homecomings, one JROTC ball, countless theater productions, a full season of high school basketball games, a freshman football season, assisting the boys with their cars, teaching Roman how to drive, and more celebrations than I can count. Not to mention being introduced to the boys’ girlfriends and offering them some much-needed advice. 😬

You also gave our daughter wisdom and guidance that only a father could provide.

Watching you navigate Drew and Caruso preparing to head off to two different colleges, mentor Taylor as she begins her journey to dental school, witness Collin grow into a remarkable young man, and reassure Roman that he is fully equipped to hold down the fort has been incredible to see.

Your love, leadership, patience, and presence continue to shape our family in ways that words can hardly express. You truly are one of one, our Superman.

Happy Father’s Day, Babe. We love you more than you’ll ever know. 💙 #HappyFathersDay #TheBestDadEver @zigrocky by @chefqtrob

We know a lot of beautiful couples who have the most amazing love stories, but ours is by far my favorite. I love my life with you and I’m forever grateful to this life that we have created. You’re my guy, the man of dreams, my best friend, my Batman and Superman. You get it all the way done for me, babe💙. Happy Anniversary, My Love! I’ll love you forever💙 @zigrocky #DoubleR #RRL #WeddingAnniversary by @chefqtrob

Four years have now turned into three more days! What a wonderful Mother’s Day gift to be able to see my first born walking across the stage to receive her B.S. in Health Science with minors in Art, Art History & Psychology.

She’s been accepted into Rutgers University to pursue her MS and DDS🙌🏽✨#futuredentist #scholar #universityofmiami #rutgersuniversity @taylorr_simonee @univmiami by @chefqtrob

Our son will be carrying on his father’s legacy at West Georgia. Just as his father left his mark at what was once West Georgia College, Drew is ready to do the same.

Drew will be taking his acting skills to the next level as a Theater major, and we couldn’t be more proud!

In January, I stepped into a new role as a Chef Instructor teaching Contemporary Cuisine to my senior class. Today… they took their FINAL. 👏🏾🔥. But this wasn’t just any exam.

They were challenged to create a 5-course fusion menu inspired by two completely different countries, Spain + Japan, along with TWO signature beverages. I assigned roles just like a real kitchen brigade: 2 Head Chefs 2 Sous Chefs and 2 Pastry Chefs

And then…I stepped back. With minimal guidance, they had to rely on EVERYTHING they’ve learned over the past two years—technique, teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
Next Saturday, they walk across the stage to receive their Associate Degrees in Culinary Arts. 🎓
