I currently can’t cook because I’m on crutches so I thought I’d share some kitchens that I’ve loved.

The first one is with my dog Jeffry, The original Boat Street Cafe. This was not a fancy kitchen but it taught me that limitations often make’s the best food.

A good garage set up with restaurant equipment leftovers and a really good induction stove and @breville oven and you are set.

A four course dinner for 20 on a beautiful Venetian Bragozzo crabbing boat is pretty much the most bad ass cooking situation. Thank you @emikodavies for the perfect day in the lagoon.

And again… making do with what you have but at the same time creating a beautiful space for tired fishers to come together around a meal is perfect. @markdtitus thanks for sharing your Bristol Bay works with us.

It’s been since September 3rd that I’ve been recovering at home after knee surgery. What a humbling, strange, painful and also heartwarming couple of long weeks.

These pears were picked by my parents from our trees in the Skagit and were dropped off @thewalrusbar & @mioohmioseattle Excited to see what @jordy_waters & @ryan.hatleberg make with them.

The fabulous @tonyis12now & @breestockmw @stock.chad made a delicious wine for us @eatseacreatures Lucky wine club members will be seeing this in their offerings and soon it will be by the glass in most of our locations. Thanks for all the effort getting this to us. Also a big thanks to @jeribou for the great label.

Still lots of kitty and puppy love, making all this time at home so much better.

AND most importantly, thank you to everyone who has reached out, brought flowers, took Bowie on a walk, brought me dinner, picked up nectarines at the farmers market because I don’t want summer to end, & cleaned the kitty litter …etc! The little things in life that make it special.

I’m slowly getting better. Another week and a half until I get to start putting weight on my left leg. Cannot wait.

On Thursday 1st October, we are heading to Seattle’s Stroum JCC with our dear friend Renee Erickson. @stroumjcc @sjcc.arts @chefreneeerickson

Renee is a brilliant chef, a very good friend and someone we always love spending time with, so we are really looking forward to sitting down together for a chat about Honey & Co. Daily, food, restaurants, the book and whatever else comes up.

Being stuck at home unable to do much of anything has been a challenge to say the least. Only one fall so that feels like an accomplishment. I am throughly enjoying watching all of my sweet cats move about the house. They are such great company. Two weeks in, six to go before I can ditch the crutches. 🙃

Oh! If anyone has a working wheelchair I can borrow so I can get around for the next few weeks let me know. 💙💙🐈🐈‍⬛ Thanks!
