Where I began my love of horses and riding at the age of 6.Β  Eventually competing in hunter jumpers into my late teens on my sassy Polish Arabian mare, Ciana.Β  Like many riders due to life circumstances, I orbited in and, mostly, out of the equestrian world throughout my twenties. In 2022 I began riding with Veronica Savery of VS Sport Horses in Escondido/ Elfin Forest CA. Veronica generously allowed me to partner with one of her horses that needed his own person. Sam crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023. In the interim, I rode lesson horses and green horses when appropriate and helpful. A year later, with the support of my amazing husband and a hard fought career taking flight, the timing felt right. I was able to purchase my incredble,Β  kind, yet opinionated, mare Trinity. We competed in ourΒ  first show, last year in the .70s @deserthorsepark.Β  I hope we can work our way up to jumping the .90’s this year. All said and told, what I want for us is safety, fun and health. After so many years without horses in my life, I cherish every moment of training, showing and being a spectator. Achieving my goal of having my own equine partner has been a huge life milestone and I feel incredibly lucky. As a runner up to the CDP Scholarship, it felt a bit like winning the lottery. I love this shot of @veronicasavery and I @deserthorsepark in March. It's bittesweet, though. Trinity and I were finally finding a bit of a show groove thanks to @thecdpfoundation helping to support showing and a lot of hard work. Unfortunately, about a month later, she became lame and we discovered she had a fracture in her left front leg. Fast forward to last Monday, and she came out of splint bone removal surgery @sanluisreyequinehospital and is on the road to hopefully a full recovery! We are taking it day by day with carrot stretches and lots of love. A huge thank you to @blackstarequestrian for sharing your story of George's recovery. I don't know that I would have had the courage to go down this road if we hadn't talked. Another GIANT THANK YOU to @vssporthorseselfinforest for always taking incredible care of my horse and being a wealth of information. Grateful for the support in this community. by @chefrickrock

While the @vssporthorseselfinforest @bramasolefarms team is killing it at @jump_nee, The Oaks and Pony Finals in Kentucky! Ms. Trinity and I are bopping around with some ground work exercises to help build proprioception and improve her topline while healing from a splint bone fracture and a coronet band abcess (Youch girl please no more injuries! ) Enrichment Inspiration care of @voiceoversandponies. A fellow lover of @dreamersnschemerssocks As much as loving horses can bring heart break. Having quiet moments at the ranch with my girl reminds me of the incredible privilege to partner with her. I may not get to show again this year, but I will be forever grateful to @thecdpfoundation for choosing me to be a #cdpfoundationrecipent and horses bring suprises all the time so who knows we may be back..... by @chefrickrock

Hoping with the help of @thecdpfoundation and some luck, this lady and I will be showing again at @jump_nee later this year after some healing. Here's the thing. If we don't, that's ok too! Her safety, health and happiness are my highest priority. I cannot thank @vssporthorseselfinforest enough for coaching and guiding us. Also, a huge thanks to @brooklyn_eqq for helping with hand walking over the summer. It takes a village to keep the red lady happy! She's not enjoying being out of work, but I hope scritches walks and treats help her know she is loved. If anyone has enrichment tricks and tips for her. 38 is not looking too shabby! I'm very blessed to be a recipient of a partial scholarship to show my horse! Care of the @thecdpfoundation Get to rock some very cool equine inspired gear from one of the scholarship sponsors @mane.jane.eq peep the belt! I own a horse! Who knew that would be a thing? I mean 13 year old Ricki definitely did. She would definitely approve! Although Trinity is on stall, rest for a bit. I'm feeling grateful that @vssporthorseselfinforest has Blue for me to take lessons on. It's bittersweet to not be riding my girl, but he holds me accountable to proper position and ques in a way that Trinity doesn't. It feels really great to feel like I can still progress in spite of it all. I work for a company @boutiquerecruiting, where I feel accomplished and appreciated! Life is good! Also, it is not that he is on social media, but I also don't want anyone to think I take the original beefcake for granted. @scdrever supports me and is by my side through it all. I couldn't do it without him. by @chefrickrock

I'm so excited to get my @ponysuds tack cleaning supplies! These smell amazing. Although Trinity is on rest for a bit. Yay, horse injuries, but we will be back and showing later in the year @jump_nee with sparkling tack. In the meantime, I feel super grateful. @vssporthorseselfinforest has let me take lessons on Blue! He holds me accountable, and it's just so eye-opening how much Trinity reads my mind. Riding him has been such an awesome reminder for all of my correct ques, body position, etc. I can not hide a thing on him and although bittersweet to not be on my girl. I'm happy to be progressing! @thecdpfoundation Thank you for helping to provide amazing opportunities and gifts. I am forever grateful. #cdpfoundationrecipent by @chefrickrock

March has been a whirlwind! It has me feeling incredibly blessed for so many reasons! Today is my 3 year wedding anniversary with my incredible husband @scdrever. I am so appreciative of the support, love and laughter he brings to every single day of our lives together. πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ’–πŸ’—πŸ’‹ I am grateful to be able to say that at 37 ALMOST 38 years old. I was able to apply for an incredible scholarship with @thecdpfoundation that helped enable me to compete in a sport I love. Allowing me to show at, in my humble opinion, one of the coolest show venues out there @deserthorsepark. I am endlessly grateful to show with a trainer and at a barn with a team of incredible people @vssporthorseselfinforest @bramasolefarms. That take such good care of my horse and I in a beautiful setting. Big in the feels today and an extra thank you to @bgc.photography for taking such beautiful photos of Trinity, Scott and I! by @chefrickrock

Thank you @thecdpfoundation @_the_clothes_horse_ for this gorgeous pad. I can't wait to compete proudly with it under my @butet_usa saddle @deserthorsepark next week. I feel incredibly blessed to be a 2026 CDP Scholarship Finalist. The novelty has not worn off, but nothing with horses ever does for me! Showing in the desert is always a blast. There are so many lessons to learn and things to experience! It's one of my favorite show venues, and @deserthorsepark does such an amazing job of creating a great experience for horses and riders to compete. @veronicasavery @vssporthorseselfinforest I can not thank you enough for your encouragement and care of Trinity and I. Guiding us and taking the sometimes literal reins when we show. πŸ€£πŸ˜… it's one of the few times that Red really shows us she's a chestnut mare. 🧯 by @chefrickrock
