My Dad. What do I even say about my dad?

He was weird. Annoyingly stern, yet also silly. Emotional. Funny. Smart — not just smart, but really fucking smart. He loved dogs. He loved my mom. He was a bit of a mystery, at least to me.

He liked to be alone a lot. He always seemed to exist on a different wavelength than I did. I was scared of him until I wasn’t. After that, I just sort of loved him from afar, because that seemed best for both of us. I waited until he was nice and weak before I attacked him with my love — but I did let him know, and he did the same.

He was a good man. But for real… a weird dude.

I wouldn’t be who I am without him, so you can all blame him for that.

I hope some of this comes off as funny. Truth be told, I’m just trying to be as dry and funny as he was. I’ll keep doing that.

We love you. All of us — but mostly Mom, Liz, me, Gavin, and June. Probably in that order.

I’ll post more photos as they come along, because I don’t have many.

Rest in peace, Dad. I’ll think of you often.

I never take enough photos at Skankfest. This is the highlight of my year, every year. I nearly didn’t make this one and I’m beyond happy that I did. Especially for Joh and I to celebrate our one year anniversary. It’s mushy and gay but I, quite literally, wouldn’t be where I am without this festival. It’s changed my life. It’s given me so much and I’m so grateful and proud that @rebelcave and @christinemevans let me be a part of this. I love you both. Thank you for everything. Also stoked that my homies @libbyophotography and @someonehelpian got to come and join the circus. I’m positive I’ll get to spend next year with you too.
