My beloved Delilah passed away earlier today 💔 I wish I was lying - I can’t believe it myself.

Yesterday morning she went back into heart failure, and unlike last time, she took a turn for the worse overnight instead of improving like I’d hoped. She had an incredible team looking after her, giving her the best treatment possible, who also extended their care to me guiding me through making the world’s toughest decision - making sure I tried just the right amount and never letting her suffer. The moment her last resort treatment failed, I knew she was tired and wanted to go. Her quality of life was my biggest priority. It always has been. I could see it in her eyes that it was time. I feel so grateful that I got to say goodbye and hold her as she passed peacefully.

I asked her for a sign before she passed and in my uber ride home “Hey There Delilah” came on the radio. I couldn’t believe it. Took my breath away. Makes me believe she crossed the rainbow bridge okay and is with my Dad. He’ll take the best care of her.

I wish I could have told you face to face, but this is all I can do for now. I’m not one to grieve publicly in real time, but to be honest I don’t know what else to do with myself. I didn’t know if I should wait or not, but I have been sitting here with Gordo feeling restless and shattered and felt the need to share the news with you who also loved her. I want to find a way to honor her with a proper tribute when I am ready, but am not going to rush it.

I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to be her Mom. I will find her again in every lifetime. I love you I love you I love you forever my Deli girl 💔🕊️ I miss you dearly.

Officially a 2x marathoner!!🏅NYC Marathon 2025

The experience was everything I hoped it would be and more! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support and for all the uplifting messages ❤️ It was such a boost!!

There were a few moments that made me question everything (losing all my salt tabs at mile 11), but something about this race was meant to be for me. Running the first half without any music was also the best decision ever. It wasn’t about speed, but just celebrating my favorite city and that my body could attempt to do this at all.

Huge shoutout to my girl Juliana (@jurenas) who was with me the whole weekend, met me twice on the course and helped me get home.

Thank you so much for all the support and for believing in me despite the rollercoaster that was my training. More thoughts and reflections coming in my next vlog!!

We did it 🫶🏻
