Setahun menjadi bagian dari @1000_guru_jakarta , dan yang paling berkesan buat gue bukan cuma perjalanan ke tempat-tempat yang mungkin jarang terlihat, tapi bagaimana kita sama-sama percaya bahwa akses terhadap pendidikan dan kesehatan seharusnya tidak berhenti hanya karena jarak.

Di setiap program, kami juga membawa teman-teman volunteer yang punya purpose yang sama: melihat langsung realitas pendidikan di daerah dengan akses yang masih terbatas. Bukan hanya pengajar, kami juga membawa volunteer tenaga kesehatan yang bertugas pada pos pengobatan gratis untuk masyarakat sekitar.

Kami datang dengan kapasitas yang berbeda, dan kontribusi kami mungkin terasa kecil. Tapi setiap kali bisa sampai ke sekolah, bertemu masyarakat, berbagi waktu, pengalaman, dan pengetahuan, atau bahkan sekadar membuat mereka merasa dilihat dan didengar, gue selalu diingatkan lagi kenapa perjalanan ini berarti.

Dan mungkin impact-nya bukan cuma untuk anak-anak yang kami temui, ada harapan bahwa setiap volunteer juga pulang dengan perspektif baru, awareness yang lebih luas, dan keinginan untuk tetap peduli pada isu pendidikan.

Semakin bertumbuh, menemukan lingkungan yang bisa berjalan bersama, meluangkan waktu, tenaga, dan pikiran untuk pendidikan, sekaligus membuka ruang bagi lebih banyak orang untuk ikut mengambil bagian, adalah sesuatu yang gue syukuri banget.

Karena pada akhirnya, impact tidak selalu harus datang dari sesuatu yang besar. Kadang, yang dibutuhkan adalah terus hadir dan terus peduli.

Since 2017, most of my volunteering has revolved around children and SDG 4. My first Voluntrip with Kitabisa came much later in 2023 (not intensely) but it’s been nice seeing the community grow and now reach its 3rd year. Today was my first time volunteering beyond children, and it meant more than I expected.

My time with Lady Ojol today touched me more than I thought it would. They’re more than a blur of green jackets moving through the city. They’re mothers, wives, and providers balancing home and the road. Hearing her story made me realize how often ojol have supported my own life: getting me through tight schedules, bringing me home safely, and showing up when I had no other option.

Running’s not really my thing, but Jakarta Running Festival 2024–2025 showed me that passion can go farther than any finish line. From the powerhouse crew behind the scenes to the champs on the track, endless respect to everyone who made it happen!🔥
