My second time hiking Koko Head in three years! I was a little afraid at first, but I’m super proud of myself for pushing all the way to the top. I’m in better shape than I give myself credit for! 💪🏽

I had a lot of time to think on those steps up today. About this past year. What I’ve carried. What I’m still working through. And how often I question myself, even with everything I’ve already overcome.

I thought about God’s promise to strengthen and help us in Isaiah 41:10. There’s comfort in knowing I can admit that something feels too heavy. I can be tired, afraid, and unsure of myself and still ask for the strength to take another step.

Through motherhood, marriage, my career, and my own personal growth, I’m learning that doing HARD things also takes humility. Admitting when I need help. Being honest about what needs to change. Looking at my own actions and making choices I can feel good about.

Getting to the top today gave me a moment to appreciate this body that has given birth to FIVE KIDS and the woman I’m becoming. After everything this past year has asked of me, I needed that moment.

I love doing the HARD THINGS. And I’m learning to give myself grace while I do them. 🤎 by @chelledadiva

Days like this make me think about retirement. More random Weekdays at the beach WITHOUT putting in leave.

More time together without counting down to the next weekend.

I love serving and I’m grateful for my success but I look forward to having more time with the family I’m doing all of this for. 🤎 by @chelledadiva

Our boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial was led by a woman serving in the Navy, and I had to give my sister in arms her flowers! 🫶🏾💐

Even out of uniform, I’m going to acknowledge the women serving alongside me. Especially now! You never know what someone is carrying.

Different branches, shared respect. Sis, I see you, and I appreciate your service! ⚓️🤎 by @chelledadiva

My girls 💕💕💕

Holding them here reminds me of how much we’ve grown together. They learned to walk, and in many ways, I was learning how to find my footing again, too.

To the twin mama still figuring it out…give yourself grace. A lot can change in a year.

Emotionally I am still fragile and still healing but mentally I am grateful to be on the other side of this. #blessed #twinmomlife by @chelledadiva

This past weekend was so beautiful. Thank you to my girls who flew in to celebrate me! I promise I don’t take your presence for granted.

Over 17 years in the Army, maintaining friendships through distance and different seasons of life hasn’t always been easy. Friendships have changed, and staying connected hasn’t always been easy. I don’t have a large circle of friends, and sometimes that can feel lonely.

So having you here meant so much to me. You took time out of your own lives and flew all this way to celebrate my promotion and my babies turning one. I know what it took to make this trip, and I don’t take that lightly and appreciate your effort.

After the year I’ve had, being able to laugh, cry, and enjoy your company was something I needed. I’m thankful we got to share these moments and make memories together.

Love y’all, and thank you for loving me and my family. 🤎 by @chelledadiva

Cheers to us for surviving though.

One year ago, we were holding two brand new babies, running on faith, love, and whatever sleep we could get.

Today our girls are ONE, and I’m just grateful. Grateful for their lives, grateful for their health, grateful for OUR family, and grateful that we made it through a year that could have taken us out and pulled us a part permanently.

Happy 1st birthday to our twins. God knew exactly what He was doing. 🤎💕 by @chelledadiva

As the twins get ready to turn ONE in TWO DAYS, I have to give my former post partum Doula Kiesha her flowers.

I wish I had documented more of her time as my postpartum doula because these little clips don’t begin to show what her support meant to me and my family during this time.

I talk a lot about what this past year has been like, but I also want to acknowledge someone who helped me through it. Kiesha was one of those people. Even as I transitioned back to work.

Being a mother of five didn’t mean I had it all figured out or that I didn’t need someone to show up for me too. And I’m so grateful she did.

Kiesha, thank you for the care you gave my babies and for the care you gave ME, my other children and even Marvin at times.

When I look back on this season of our lives, you’ll always be part of that story. 🤎

Thank you for your care and professionalism during one of the most difficult times of my life! by @chelledadiva

A year ago, I labored to bring two babies into this world at home. What I didn’t know was that childbirth would only be the beginning of my labor.

Almost immediately afterward, life changed in ways I never expected or prepared for.

My husband and I found ourselves learning how to navigate life with newborn twins while still raising the kids who already needed us.

And when I look back at this first year, I’m proud of the woman who kept figuring it out. Not because she did everything perfect. Not because she never struggled. But because even when life looked nothing like she expected it to, she kept showing up.

For them. For her family. And eventually, for herself too. 🤎

Almost one year down. A lifetime of mothering to go.

So proud of ME! 🥹🤎 by @chelledadiva

Fridays have low key become my time with my girls. 🤎

Usually that means gymnastics while my husband gets a little kid free time, and then we spend the rest of the evening together. But today, we skipped gymnastics, walked by the water, went to the park, and just enjoyed each other.

Nothing crazy or extravagant. Nothing planned. Just time.

Raising a big family has taught me that being intentional with my kids doesn’t always require some grand experience. Sometimes it’s just creating little routines where they know, “Mama is here. This is our time.”

They may not remember every Friday or every place we went, but I hope they always remember that even when life was crazy busy, I made time to be present. 🥹🤎

One day, Friday nights won’t belong to me anymore.

So while they do…I’m soaking them up. 🫶🏾 by @chelledadiva
