Book Review - King of Pain by @jpjosephauthor
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️
First of all, we shared a deep love for Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. I’ve found my people! The song choices for each chapter were so good and I loved how music wove its way throughout the story. Take My Breath Away for the meet cute? I swooned!

I loved how the story moved between past and present, giving me a deeper understanding of what made our boys who they were. The music, the yearning, the flirting. What a bloody combo!

This was a slooooowwwww burn, but when I tell you it was worth it, I am not lying. That first kiss was EVERYTHING I wanted from a slow burn book.

Anthony, my poor boy. My heart broke for everything he’d endured. And Chance? Our shameless flirt, confident king and sunshine baby boy. The inner monologues had me cackling like a hyena. Bro, I laughed so much at these two!

And Jen? I LOVED HER! Unhinged and hilarious, and just as invested in getting these boys together as I was.

JP, THREE YEARS? JAIL! I eventually forgave you because the spice we were rewarded with? Chef’s kiss! And seeing Ant become confident and bossy in the bedroom? Chance, you lucky boy!

At its heart, this was a story about healing despite extreme trauma, the family you build, self-discovery, self-acceptance and soft love, even when life has taught you pain.

I shed a few tears along the way, but that final epilogue? Jesus Christ, I was not ok. What a beautiful way to end the journey of Chance and his beautiful Anthony.

Bit of a slower month but between my birthday holiday and the pure and utter trauma some of these books reaped upon my heart, I needed some time to stare at the wall and contemplate my choices 🤭 just kidding I love it when a book makes me feel.
I’d recommend all of these babies, I was either cackling, crying, or 2 secs from yeeting my kindle into the toilet. Got to do my first beta read for one of my absolute fave authors too who loves to destroy our hearts but whose writing sings to my soul. So yay! Good month! #mmromance #mmromancebooks #mmromancereads #mmromancerecs #readingwrapup by @chellereadssmut

Book Review - Broken Things by @authorautumnhendrix

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

Oh, these boys! My heart ❤️. I wanted to wrap them both in the biggest hug.

Kaden absolutely broke me. He’s so obviously autistic, and his so-called friends were bloody awful for making him feel bad about something he cannot control. He’s awkward, struggles to connect with people and has spent so much of his life feeling unwanted and unlovable. And that just made me so sad for him. I wanted someone to see him, love him and make him realise he was never too much or too difficult to love.

Parker is carrying his own mountain of grief and guilt, escaping to a new city in the hope of starting again. But the pain hasn’t gone anywhere, and watching him struggle with the fear of losing someone again really got to me.

An abandoned puppy brings these two together, and I loved watching their relationship unfold. The everyday tenderness, the little moments of care, the patience and the way they show up for each other. I was absolutely HERE for it! Neither of them needed to be perfectly healed or have all their baggage sorted to deserve love. They just needed someone willing to stay.

And the found family? Beautiful. Chase, Easton, and bestie Brady welcoming Kaden so wholeheartedly was everything. When you’ve spent so long believing nobody actually wants you around, having people love you so freely must be overwhelming. I loved that these boys didn’t just make room for Kaden; they genuinely wanted him there. And they knew just how good he was for Parker.

We also get a fearless queer awakening, and I bloody loved that!

Two broken boys, an abandoned puppy, a whole lot of tenderness and a family who loved them exactly as they were. A lovely ending for boys I was absolutely rooting for.

It’s been a few days and I’m still here. Probably won’t be moving on. These boys, especially Dami just won’t leave my thoughts so it looks like I’ll be annoying everyone about
We Were Fine by @carmen.wilder1 is out 4 Dec. #mmromance #mmromancebooks #mmromancereads #mmbooktok #mmromancerecs by @chellereadssmut

This is the swooniest read! I’m talking soft, gentle, patient love, old-fashioned courting, yearning, and filthy spice. WHAT A BLOODY COMBO!
Jasper is so afraid of being left that he quits before anyone can leave him. As someone who relates to the way his ASD is described, I felt so seen. That feeling of not fitting into a world that’s loud, abrasive, and not made for those of us with sensory sensitivities? Oof. Right in the feels.
And then there’s Konrad. 🥹 Soft, gentle, patient Konrad, who doesn’t try to break Jasper’s walls down. He builds a ladder. I CANNOT WITH THIS MAN.
The emotional maturity, the respect for boundaries, the soft touches, the grazing of fingers, the yearning! He gave me all those Mr Darcy feelings, except this man was DOWN BAD from the jump. Beloved in his native tongue? I’m DONE.
And the spice? Yummmm! Tender AND filthy. Apparently, you can absolutely have both because Asa made it happen. One minute you’re saying “awww,” the next you’re blushing and desperately trying to give these boys some privacy. And CHAPTER 22?! 🥵 Asa, you made us WAIT for that!
This book gave me everything I love: yearning, tenderness, emotional intimacy, a man who loves with his whole damn heart, and spice that absolutely delivers.
Read it. Swoon over Konrad. Thank me later. ❤️

Well, then 🤭🤭🤭 Konrad is now Daddy 🥵🥵#mmromance #mmromancebooks #mmromancereads #mmromancerecs by @chellereadssmut

So I am a crier. I will cry if it’s sweet and fluffy romance, but I love for my feelings to be hurt as long as I’m all put back together by the end, and these authors always deliver the goods. #mmromance #mmromancebooks #mmromancereads #mmromancerecs by @chellereadssmut

This is my 10 (actually 15) before end of 2026. Let’s see if I keep myself accountable or my spicy brain gets distracted 🤭🤭#mmromance #bookstagram #mmromancebooks #mmromancereads #mmromancerecs by @chellereadssmut

So this has to be the swooniest book I’ve read in a long time. I’m 58% in and I’ve got second hand butterflies.

Because, Konrad. That’s it. That is the whole post.

I had the absolute pleasure of beta reading We Were Fine by the wordy sorceress @carmen.wilder1 and well, I am NOT okay. 😭😭😭😭
I knew this one was going to be rough. Carmen warned me. I went in knowing I was about to get my heart ripped out, and somehow I still wasn’t prepared for the emotional damage this beautifully heartbreaking story inflicted on me.
Damian had me wanting to wrap him in a hug, protect him from the world, and rage at everyone who had ever made him feel like he wasn’t worthy of love. And I mean that with my entire chest.
And Milo, Dami’s sweet Sunshine. 🥹 you were quite literally the sweetest most perfect light in all that darkness.

These boys had me laughing, crying, raging, and desperately hoping for happiness for them. My heart was not built for this.
This is a raw, heavy and beautifully written story about trauma, addiction, and the messy reality of learning how to love when life hasn’t exactly shown you how. These aren’t perfect characters, and this isn’t a perfect love story. It’s complicated, painful, tender, and so incredibly human.
One of my favourite things about Carmen’s writing is her imagery. She is like an artist painting, with words as her brushstrokes and the page as her canvas. And once again, she has created something that makes you FEEL every single word. I will never stop loving the way she writes.
AND THE SPICE, MA’AM. 👀👀 I was sweating, blushing, and wondering if I should excuse myself and leave these boys to it. 😂 I have no idea if I can look at a jeep the same again

I lost count of how many hours I cried. This
book hurt, but it was beautiful, and I know these boys are going to live rent-free in my head and stick right in my ribs where I will keep them safe.
Infinite stars. A Roman Empire book

Thank you @tiff.reads.and.rambles for bringing me into the beta read fam!
