New board review: 2024 Womens Odyssey

I’ve had my Clovis (straight camber) for so long that I was afraid and skeptic to try something new. Niseko isn’t known for steeps but they have really long pow runs. (I’m talking about 8-10min pow runs from top to bottom). The camrock allowed me to be fast enough in the first section of Mt. Annupuri, and as you can see in the first half of the video, the blower overhead pow was effortless with this board. The midsection of the mtn started with widely spaced trees then tighter forest towards the end. Again, the surfy aspect of the camrock is what made this board playful to ride in between the trees. On that note, thanks to @timhumphreys @nideckersnowboards for letting me test run this babe!

First two photos are from 2019 when we thought being pregnant was so scary that Chelli dressed up as “Pregnant Chelle” for Halloween 😂 👻. Then two years later we decided to start trying to have a baby. Now, It’s been 5 years since then trying to make that little dream come true, and we are proud to say we have 19 week old little girl kicking around Chelle’s belly🥰. @chelli_pie is not snowboarding this winter but she’s out snow shoeing getting some of that eastern sierra air, making sure the little one feels at home in the mountains. Looking forward to a our new little adventure companion❤️❤️❤️ by @chelli_pie

Was able to hike a little over 5mi today around Mammoth. Second time snow shoeing this season. Being almost 4.5mos prego, I’m amazed at how much I can do at this stage.

Snowshoeing is a fun, low risk activity for those who still want to stay active outside in the winter (just don’t do it during a blizzard—duh!)

I was a bit afraid going by myself. I studied google map and 3D versions. Took screenshots and all. But damn, what a relief when I stopped to ask the ski patrol at the bottom of Main Lodge that they plowed the road for 2mi. On top of that, I had cell reception the entire time, so I was able to keep in touch with hubby along the way and updated each other.

The last 20mins of the hike were off trail, but not too difficult to follow (there was a skier track that I followed). The top was windy but manageable. I stayed for half hour and had my lunch there at the giant oversized wooden bench.

On my way out, I was greeted by 3 snow mobilers and 5 other snow shoers. Overall, would recommend for a short and fun winter trip other than snowboarding/skiing. Trail was super easy to follow. Met up with the hubby on the way back to Main Lodge.

Distance: 2.5mi one way (5mi total)
Total time it took to the vista: 1.5hrs (probably could be shorter for most—but had to stop and piss 3x on the way up 🤦🏽‍♀️😂) taken in Mammoth Lakes, California by @chelli_pie

Typical Chelli adventure… go to an easy “touristy” hike that goes halfway up this giant rock. Then don’t touch that trail and forge your own way to the top 😂. Tova also started climbing backwards for most of the climb which was hilarious. by @chelli_pie

Mammoth freshies last weekend was just what we all needed. Minimal wind. Cold temps. Free refills. Zero lift line (I know, that’s extremely rare!). And lots of pow howls!

I finally got to test my new @bataleonsnowboards 2024 PushUp. Here’s a quick review:

It’s a bit stiff so it took me a while to get used to it. Probably because my older board was a rocker. My 180s feels cleaner and more poppy however (yay)! It’s very stable when going super fast. Also super stable and less squirly when popping off small trees 😁 probably because it’s stiffer than my old Arbor Swoon.

Mammoth was not fully opened last weekend. I wasn’t able to test the board on steeper terrain. I also haven’t tested how it would go on medium sized booters. So stay tuned! A shoutout to @instacaps for allowing me to test drive a new board. by @chelli_pie

Aging gracefully and peacefully by continuing to maintain the importance of play as an adult. 2024 will just be the same. Work, yoga, play outside, repeat. The only difference now is having a basecamp to recharge with a supportive partner aka free massage at the end of the day 😂 Happy New Yr everyone! by @chelli_pie
