It’s a new month and we have some new people here so I figured I’ll come on here and reintroduce myself!

My name is Rachelle, the founder of Chellypic Photography and I have the pleasure of serving the Greater Boston area and beyond for the past 5+ years with portrait and event photography services.

This is a journey that is a bit unexpected but truly falls into place. Every season before was building me for this moment where I am leading as a creative and self-built entrepreneur and loving the journey I am on.

I am a believer in Jesus Christ who gives me the true strength to carry out what he has gifted me to do! God is my CEO our meetings, exchanges, can’t do it without him!

I am newly married to my favorite Igbo man! This year brought so many surprises and continues to do so! I am a recent graduate of the Goldman Sachs Program, a program I had my eye on and then took me through the fire and being on the other side, I am ready to apply and grow from the feedback!

I love to be in nature and getting reconnected with my love for trail walks and being in community.

Community is truly everything to me! It’s some of my earliest memories and makes me feel at home! I have such amazing family, friends and community that not only support my creative journey but clap along the way and I honor you all!

As we enter this last half of the year I want to thank all the amazing people who I have been able to work with this year and previous years! This is only the beginning of creativity and impact!

Rachelle is a creator, business owner, and natural gatherer of people who is deeply rooted in community, culture, and purpose. Passionate about bringing people together and creating meaningful experiences, she remains committed to community, policy, equality, and promoting and supporting culture. Currently embracing her creative era, Rachelle is stepping into greater ownership and independence in the work she creates, building a path that reflects her values and allows her to express herself authentically.

For Rachelle, success means finding peace in the work she does and the missions she stands behind. It’s about being secure and confident in her purpose, exploring spaces that allow her to be more colorful, and continuing to lean into her strengths.

One of the most valuable lessons Rachelle has learned is that success is something you continuously build upon, but it doesn’t have to happen every day. She believes that finding your own cadence, embracing growth, and learning how to innovate are what keep your work evolving, meaningful, and fulfilling.

The sweetest love! 🤍

If I were to restart my business, here are five things I’d start working on immediately:

1️⃣ Tap into my network. I’d think about who in my circle I can talk to about my business and get insight from. There are so many business-minded people we’re already connected to who have resources, if you’re willing to get on the phone and actually connect. I would most definitely pick their brains and ask questions.

2️⃣ Build allies. These could be businesses that run parallel to yours or are in a similar industry. They’re people you can ask for help, and help in return, as you move through the different stages of your business.

3️⃣ Write a simple business plan. It doesn’t have to be extensive, because you’ll keep updating it as you grow. Your business plan in year one should look completely different from your plan in year five. And it doesn’t have to be perfect! We often think things need to look perfect before we move forward, but what matters is having structure and goals.

4️⃣ Research funding opportunities. Look for ones that are tangible and realistic for you and your business right now. Then think long-term: what funding would you go after once you meet certain criteria (a.k.a. revenue)?

5️⃣ Set structure and boundaries.*m Build in ways to enjoy your work and make time for rest: breaks, days off, and vacations. You don’t want your business to wear you out. You want to work *on* your business, not have it work you!
