This Friday on #FeelGoodFriday, I’m joined by the brilliant Katie Deverell 🎙️

@katie_connects is Site Director at Patch Chelmsford @patchplaces but we bonded over so much more. We first met at the start of the year at a sober socialising event at Patch, organised by Chelmsford for You, where I chaired the panel, and we instantly connected.

I’ve worked at Patch myself, and it’s such a great co-working space and community right in the heart of Chelmsford: a place for work, creativity and connection. Katie is also a true creative, and I can’t wait to talk with her about her own wellbeing.

We’ll be chatting through the Feel Good Friday 5️⃣ : five questions and five songs about what makes Katie feel good. And honestly?

This Friday on #FeelGoodFriday, I’m joined by Dave Chase, founder of MATES @weareyourmates 🎙️

With World Mental Health Day on Saturday, I couldn’t think of a better guest to have on the night before. Mental health is so close to my heart, and it’s at the centre of everything I do, so this one means a lot to me.

Dave founded MATES in 2017, roping in some of his own mates to help build a safe community where people can talk openly about mental health. Honest, friendly, real conversations.

Today MATES runs Walk & Talks, drop-in chats, a run club, a golf society, a cycling club and even its own football club, MATES FC, all built around one simple idea: conversations change lives.

We’ll be chatting through the Feel Good Friday Five: five questions and five songs about what makes Dave feel good 💜

Essex Book Worm Podcast - first episode now available!

Over the last few weeks our first Essex Book Worm YA podcast has taken shape.

Our young participants have been learning how to make their own podcast with Chelmsford Community Radio and writer/educator Emma Kittle-Pey.

In this episode the team discuss their seasonal book recommendations, screen adaptations – the good and the bad, the use of AI in books and publishing, plus an interview about the writing process with Isla who has written her own YA novel.

On #FeelGoodFriday last week, I sat down with the wonderful Nancy May @nancymaysoprano for a proper natter, and what a conversation it was 💜

Nancy was so open with us. She talked about recording her album through grief, the joy music brings her, and her dreams and passions for what comes next. We covered it all, with a beautiful Feel Good Friday Five playing underneath.

This Friday on #FeelGoodFriday, I’m joined by the wonderful Nancy May @nancymaysoprano 🎙️

As a huge lover of classical music, I am so excited about this one!

Nancy is a classical crossover soprano whose warm, expressive voice has filled concert halls across the UK. Her music blends musicals, popular opera and classical favourites. She has toured as a guest artist with Russell Watson for three years running and sung at venues including Cadogan Hall and Westminster Abbey. Her latest album, For You, came out last October.

We’ll be chatting through the Feel Good Friday Five: 5️⃣ questions and 5️⃣ songs about what makes Nancy feel good. With a voice like hers, I think we’re in for a treat 💜
