For my 50th Birthday yesterday I started my Camino with the 25km Boyne Valley Camino. Things didn't go as planned with power lines down about 1/4 of the way around which meant turning back.

I will walk it again soon before going to Spain to walk the 75km to Santiago for the Celtic Camino. Sometimes life is not so much about what happens to you but how you respond.

A beautiful day regardless. Buen Camino. taken in Drogheda, Ireland by @chels1976

When I sat down with Chelsea, who grew up in the Australian bush, I thought we’d simply be talking about two completely different childhoods. Instead, despite growing up on opposite sides of the world, we discovered how similar the emotional impact of our experiences had been.

We spoke about masking, trauma, people-pleasing, the relationships we choose, and how so many of us learn to become who we think we need to be just to belong.

Chelsea shared the work she now does with women through breathwork, somatic healing and reconnecting with the feminine. I’ll be honest, I found parts of the conversation uncomfortable. Growing up in Ireland, conversations about our bodies and sexuality simply weren’t something many of us had.

But that’s exactly why I wanted to leave that vulnerability in.

Sometimes discomfort isn’t something to run from, it’s an invitation to become curious.

This episode isn’t really about sex.

It’s about shame.
It’s about healing.
It’s about learning that so many of our choices come from survival rather than freedom.
And it’s about slowly finding our way back home to ourselves.

I’d love to know what resonates with you after listening.

Episode 26 is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and wherever you listen.
