In July last year, we sat down at a local bar and mulled over the idea of just taking a break from our corporate jobs, quitting the 9-5 to travel for a year. 🌎

Today, those musings become a reality. We’re finally doing it! ✈️😅

As a couple of creatives from Sydney, we’re really excited to just use this time to create content for ourselves and live this experience while we can. 📷

Antalya and all it’s beauty 🇹🇷

We did a day cruise around the islands, hopped on and off and even went for a dip in the turquoise water, despite it being a little chilly!

When we got back on land we went for a little sunset stroll by the port 🌅 explored the bazaar, then ruins… an amazing time!

In all of the travel we’ve done together, watching the sunrise over Cappadocia while flying away across the valley in a hot air balloon has to be top of the list 💭

The day didn’t start off to plan as we had to wait to get the go ahead due to strong winds 💨 Did you know 1/3 hot air balloon rides in Turkey are cancelled due to the weather?

We eventually got the green light and captured some of our favourite moments together 🫶 worth a 3:30am wake up every single time!

Istanbul 🇹🇷 So cool one minute we were in Europe, and the next Asia!

We were treated to such nice weather, beautiful mosques and delicious food! It’s safe to say we ate our year’s worth of desserts with all of the baklava, Turkish delight and Kunefe 🤤

Lars had always wanted to visit after conquering the quests of Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed 😂

The day after our hot air balloon ride we hiked to the next town over from where we were staying in Goreme. We visited Uçhisar Castle - a castle carved out of the rock dating back to the 4th century Byzantine era.

We found it so impressive and also so hard to believe this area was never used for a set in Star Wars.

Last week we did a thing we’ve been wanting to for ages - a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Türkiye! Despite an almost cancellation (we were on standby in a room waiting to see if the weather would clear for take off) we were lucky enough to have back to back mornings. The first being the balloon ride across Goreme at sunrise. The next morning we got up for a sunrise hike to watch the flight over Love Valley. ❤️ taken in Cappadocia - Kapadokya by @chelsandlars
