in prepping for my baby shower, i dreamt up these gift totes for all of my guests. women who have prayed for our future family of five, and have truly been there for me in all the highs and lows. i had to spoil my girls :)

one month from this morning he’ll be in our arms
this time last year i had lost hope for a third for our family
but God restores, he has a plan, he’s faithful through it all

tyler has written me love notes for 10 years now, they’re always the same folded little piece of paper with chicken scratch and a drawing. the few sentences always make me weep. he’s a poet. this birthday love note said something like “this has been the most sad, hard, fun, joyful year yet.” and it couldn’t be more true. the grief of miscarrying three times has had such a hold on me even to this day, yet the joy of the Lord has sustained us and seen us through. we chose through the pain to look to heaven and fill our days with endless adventure and memories with just us four. joy kept coming in the morning. by @chelseaneff_

Three years ago, I got the creative urge to begin documenting families on film but in a different approach than most. Real, authentic, playful, nothing forced. I wanted to prove to families that I could get the shots without draining their morning away - avoiding meltdowns and hoping for the whole family (even the dads) to thoroughly enjoy an hour hanging with me as I photograph their crew.

It’s been 3 years now of fully booked seasons. Started with just fall and now my whole years fill up quick - no matter the weather. A literal dream come true. Through my family sessions, I’ve gained countless new friends. I’ve also gained new work in other areas - photographing home interiors, hotels, branded content and more. Believe it or not I’m shooting til 38 weeks pregnant this month 🌟😮‍💨 and already starting to book up for next year.

Kids grow up really fast. These fleeting seasons need to be captured and cherished forever. I’ve photographed families as they grow now for 3 years in a row. From pregnancy to newborns to adding one more. Film holds a special place in my heart and I get so excited to share this gift with others. Im so grateful for every family who has trusted me to hold time still for just a moment. by @chelseaneff_
