Little BTS of our most recent @theblindtigershow shoot 🦋 read on for some reminiscing on the process + why we do these in the first place.

so much of producing a show like this is the marketing push and so creating these images are a necessity to cut through the noise. @lilylnoir & I have been determined to approach each one with intention and have them be images we love having as snapshots of where we are, the tone of the show, who our artist is in this moment and ultimately a fun memory we share of the work we put into this.

I’m so grateful to have a true collaborator in Lily and for her to take my word salad ideas and not only help execute but elevate my vision to something better than I could have imagined. Additionally for reminding me that in a still image no one needs to see the safety pins haha.

Dave Turner, our wonderful collaborator and photographer, after hearing our inspiration and seeing our mood board, pitched this idea and let us know it would be much closer to posing for a painter than for a photograph. It was so cool to watch him literally paint us with light in real time as the camera’s shutter sat open on a long exposure. We’d make the tiniest pose adjustments and go again and again till we got what we were looking for. The raw images are almost identical to the processed ones and that’s a testament to his skill and patience. I love the distortion in our faces and the soft glow on our skin - a reminder that these were created practically without any artifice.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and perhaps we’ll see ya Wednesday night 6.24 @redpavilionbk (ticket link in bi0) xx taken in New York, New York by @chelseyng

CAMP is an act of defiance dolled up in a neon pink feather boa. It was important to me to pick a theme for our pride show that felt like a testament to the pursuit of joy in the wake of repression. Swipe for more musings 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🦋💕✨

Celebrate with us 6/24 (weds) @redpavilionbk, 8:30pm (doors)!
