So here’s the thing about sports……
Every once in a while, your kids find themselves a part of something truly incredible. They may not fully understand it yet, and they probably couldn’t put it into words if you asked them, but they FEEL it. And as a parent, I can tell you there is something so incredibly special about getting to watch it happen. It makes my heart so full. ❤️
This sweet little group of kiddos, paired with an amazing group of coaches, is made up of a whole lot of spice, a little sass, and an absolutely beautiful amount of KINDNESS and ACCEPTANCE.
The boys aren’t just friends with the boys, and the girls aren’t just friends with the girls. They are TEAMMATES. They celebrate each other, believe in each other, and have each other’s backs. They chest bump after an incredible play, cheer each other on when things go right, and you better believe they get after each other when someone needs that extra push. They know how to compete, how to encourage, how to hold each other accountable.
I hope my kiddos always remember this season! I hope they remember the laughter, the celebrations, the friendships, the coaches who poured into them, and the teammates who became so much more than just teammates.
Most of all, I hope they remember how this feels. Because one day, they’ll be grown, and they may not remember every game or every play, but I hope they remember what it felt like to be part of something where everyone belonged, everyone mattered.
What a life lesson….. sometimes the very best things about sports have absolutely nothing to do with the sport itself. ❤️🏈 by @chelsvickroy

Some of my favorite memories are being made on a softball field. Watching her grow in confidence, learn new skills, and have fun with her teammates is enough to be grateful for for 10 life times . Thankful for this softball season and the memories we’re all making together. 🥎❤️ by @chelsvickroy

Today is Twin Day at the elementary, and the irony isn’t lost on me…. Cora is part of the tiny 1% of naturally conceived twins, yet today she’d rather do anything than match her actual twin 😂

Instead, she and her adorable friend teamed up to be the cutest little twin M&M’s, and honestly… I could not love it more💕 by @chelsvickroy

My man had a tough competition, coming off a week of a nasty case of strep throat. Missed practice means fatigued little muscles. He was able to push through and take 4th place in the state on high bar. His teammates had an amazing showing carry them to a 1st place team win in the state! Super proud of them all! by @chelsvickroy

I never imagined being in the 100% could be a disadvantage in sports….until this year.
My sweet, stubborn, pain-in-the-ass 8-year-old second grader has been drawing the short straw, wrestling kids much older than him because wrestling is based on weight class.
But today……He showed up, fought hard, and earned his first win. Could not be more proud. 🖤 by @chelsvickroy
