LeAnn LaFay and her Parson Russell Terrier “Chief” (Multi-HIT CZ8P13 RATCHX26 UNJ RACEN CA USA UFA “PR” Cher Car’s Chief Wilson Smudge SPOT-ON RATI FDC RUNN) had a remarkable weekend of Barn Hunt competition, achieving a previously unobtained milestone. This outstanding team earned their 26th Barn Hunt Championship title (RATCHX26) and their 13th Crazy 8 Platinum title (CZ8P13), which is a combination of 52 lesser Crazy 8 titles). “Chief” is now the most titled Parson Russell Terrier in the Barn Hunt Association history! LeAnn has also shown “Chief” in 4 other UKC venues (dock jumping, lure coursing, prevision coursing, terrier racing and socialized pet obedience) and with the addition of this past weekend’s new titles, “Chief” has now earned 92 competition titles! Many, many congratulations to LeAnn and “Chief”; and thank you LeAnn for loving him so much and giving him such a fulfilling life doing what terriers LOVE to do!

** Seminar Announcement **

Cher Car Kennels and Amstel K9 are collaborating to offer a one-day seminar on dog handling techniques for veterinary professionals, taught by Cheryl Carlson of Cher Car Kennels. The seminar will take place on June 9 and is open to veterinary professionals only (DVM, Vet Techs, and Vet Assistants).

We love our dogs and try to give them the best care possible. Unfortunately, sometimes our dogs don’t seem to appreciate our efforts when it comes to veterinary care. When a dog is uncooperative during routine care or procedures at a veterinary clinic, this can lead to stressful and sometimes unsafe situations for veterinary professionals. Cheryl Carlson has 47 years of experience training police and guard dogs, while specializing in the evaluation and corrective training of pet dog behavior and temperament.

In this seminar, we will use live dogs and realistic scenarios to demonstrate safe handling of our canine companions in a clinical setting. The cost is $50 per person.
