We had a great time as part of @sadlerswells_east Artistic Development programme 'Playlab'

Massive thank you to the team and @takeshi.matsumoto

Here are some snapshots of our research piece "Grab N Go" which we presented at the PlayLab Festival.

"Chapter 30: A landmark evening of Hip-Hop Dance Theatre celebrating the legacy of Impact Dance"

October 25 -June 26 was joyfully spent with @impactdanceuk and @hakeemmrimpact curating their 30th anniversary show, CHAPTER 30!

From RnDs to auditions to an intense 3-week rehearsal and production meetings the whole team rose to the challenge and put together a brilliant show!

Thank you to Hakeem and Impact Dance for entrusting me of the role of Rehearsal Director and for the whole cast for giving their all during the process and on the stage!

"Directed by Hakeem ‘Mr Impact’ Onibudo, with creative collaborations from Boy Blue’s Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante and Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy, and Uchenna’s Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu, the show will feature an ensemble of professional dancers as well as Impact Dance’s outstanding Academy and Youth Company members."

Thank you to @chisenhaledance for commissioning me to write their new Class Lab Teaching Resource, with wonderful contributions from @alexandrabaybutt.movement also!

My first time having my writing published! I literally squealed when it came through the post 🤭

I could have never imagined how much being a teacher has impacted my life. Particularly, working with young people for over 10+ years. It is a profession that continues to shape me as a person and as an artist. I am extremely grateful to have a job which I love!

I had a great time reflecting on my own practice and I really hope that new, returning and questioning dance teachers can find at least a couple of evocative nuggets to work with.

‘SONDER’ ✨

A few of our Project Fierce dancers reflecting on their latest piece by the incredible @cherilynalbert_ , inspired by the idea of Sonder 💜

Sonder is the realisation that every passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. It is the profound feeling that each person has their own unique story, in which they are the main character, and you are merely a passerby.

One of our dancers says ‘you’re not alone and everybody else could be going through similar things to you’ 💜

At Project Female, each performance company creates pieces that reflect issues impacting our dancers. At the centre of every piece are their authentic voices. We aim to support, empower and amplify young people to tell their stories🌟

T.R.O.Y

We ended our 2025 with an invitation from @impactdanceglobal to kick off their 30th anniversary celebrations with a reload of Live Vibe- Spitz n Interpolations.

We welcomed the challenge by inviting our very own @umapuma1 to choreograph alongside Cherilyn to fuse IU's style with heels and breaking choreography. We were put through our paces fusing the styles and trying to marry it to the music in a short time but we had dope time. Feels great to be making and presenting again 🙏🏾

We were given the tracks:
