There’s more that I could share, and maybe I’ll save that for another day- but this is how it all started 💛 by @cherishplanningco

how fall’s been going -> the last pic especially 🤍 by @cherishplanningco

1. Start with your pillows laid flat, then add in some accent pillows. You can do two, like I’ve done in the video 👆🏼, or switch it up with a long pillow or bolster. Mixing different pillow sizes and heights will also help with creating more dimension.

2. Fold the top of your duvet back to create a layered and inviting look (like you’re ready to jump in at the end of the day).

3. Add a throw or quilt across the bottom of your bed to bring in a little texture and colour. If you’re adding a throw, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Placing it asymmetrically or bunching it a little to add texture can make your bed look more relaxed.

Lastly, keep your colour palette cohesive. Your pillows and layers don’t all have to match, but pulling a few colours from the rest of your room will help everything feel connected!

I’ve seen a lot of ways that people make their beds, but I find these little details can make such a difference and help with making yours look and feel great. by @cherishplanningco

A little bit of backstory on this one… this project was the first time I staged a vacant property. 🏠

2 weeks. $2500. 3 bedrooms + den. I had a full-time job, was in school, and had no furniture inventory. The realtor asked, “can you make it happen?” Well, I do love a good challenge. I said yes.

After what seemed like 100 FB marketplace deals, countless trips to IKEA and Homesense, and even pulling from my own furniture pieces 😮‍💨, I packed and hauled everything through the front door.

At the time, I wasn’t thinking about staging as a business. I didn’t even really understand the impact that it could have, until my clients told me, “we never thought about putting the furniture that way,” and the realtor said “it was the staging that sold the space.” 😲

Looking back, there are certain things that I would have done differently. Better furniture, more decor, more artwork… but even still, I’m proud of how this turned out. It shows me how far I’ve come, and that I was capable of taking what I had and running with it.

My hope is to be able to continue helping new clients in the same way- listening to your needs, using what we have to our advantage, and getting the right results. 📈🤓 by @cherishplanningco

Rugs can be tricky! But saying “well, I like this one, it’s good enough,” isn’t the answer (sorry mom 😭❤️)

I know they can easily cost a pretty penny, but there are a few ways you can find a good rug without spending a fortune- and it’s WORTH hunting for the right one!

They are really one of those pieces that can make or break a space, so choosing the right size and style is important. Also, pleasee take 5 minutes to measure your space before you start shopping!

For smaller living rooms, it’s okay to float your rug! Just make sure it’s sitting close enough to the sofa… you want it barely touching or just in front of it, not a whole foot 😅 away.

I could go on and on about rug materials, colours, shapes, pile heights… but this is a great starting point. So make sure to save this for the next time you’re rug shopping! by @cherishplanningco

What this summer’s looked like since I launched my business 2 months ago! So thankful for every project, opportunity, and chance to be creative. 💛 by @cherishplanningco

I love having a tricky layout to stage. When it isn’t obvious what to do with the floor plan, that’s when having a design perspective is super beneficial to work around it.

After we staged this property, the homeowners were shocked. A lot of the changes we’d made were things that they hadn’t even considered!

Thankfully, we were able to prepare the new homeowners so that they had a good idea of exactly what to do with the space ☺️🏠 by @cherishplanningco

And now this living room is bright and modern, ready for its next owners ☁️ by @cherishplanningco

If you feel like there’s something’s off in your space, start by looking at your current lighting situation… 💡

Ask yourself whether you have at least 3 sources of light:

- Ceiling light (general/accent)
- Table lamp or floor lamp (task)
- Mirror or fairy lights (sparkle)

Layering all of them will create that cohesive, intentional and cozy vibe! Always use warm bulbs, not cold- that just makes it feel like you’re in an office 😬

Bonus: Adding candles will bring in extra warmth and dimension (plus they smell great!) And hopefully these few tips will help you transform your room 🛋️

I love creating concept boards. They help me process my ideas, play around with different pieces, and envision what a room could look like 💭

One of the easiest ways to make your home feel brighter ✨, cleaner, and more inviting before listing? Paint.

A fresh coat can completely change a buyer’s first impression, but choosing the RIGHT colour can actually help a home to sell.

Especially if you have a lot of different wall colours or patterns, painting is one of the highest-impact updates you can make.
