These are topics of conversation I’ve had with my guests, some of them even within the same day. Nobody talks about the challenges hairstylists face with shifting our attitudes/mindsets to hold space for our clients when something major happens in their life. Holding space for the guest who just found out they have cancer and then being able to celebrate the next guest that just found out they are having a child, when previously told they couldn’t conceive- is not easy and is something I’ve had to work really hard to do effortlessly, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I am so grateful to get to be part of these people’s lives and get to hear their stories. To anyone who’s ever sat in my chair, thank you for your trust with not only your hair but your trust to share such vulnerability with me. I am grateful for every one of you ❤️ Happy holidays and may you have a beautiful start to your new year.

As someone who rarely shares things that are so personal, the vulnerability in this post is difficult, but not nearly as difficult as losing Laura. Laura came into my life when her dad met my mom when I was just 7 years old. We lived in the same home for many years and grew up together. To me, she wasn’t just the daughter to the man my mom married, she truly was a sister to me. I cannot express how painful her passing has been. I can’t believe she’s gone. Tell your family you love them and show it to them too. I would have given anything to give Laura some extra love and tell her goodbye. Please donate to the gofundme or share this post. This will help my family cover the expenses of her memorial services and also help take care of her children. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please keep my family in your thoughts.
