💙 What could cancer support look like in your community?

We recently brought Cherry Lodge Cancer Care into the community at Grahame Park, Barnet, sharing a little of what we do through breathwork, reflexology, sound healing and meditation.

But it’s about more than the therapies we offer. It’s about connecting with people affected by cancer, listening to their experiences and understanding what support would make a real difference to them.

We’re exploring how we could bring our support closer to home, and we’d love to hear from the people who need it most. 💙

Because the best way to support a community is to listen to it.

Craft & Cuppa 🎨🖌️

Every first Wednesday of the month members can join our art therapy sessions with local artist Julie.

Come to the centre 1 - 2:30pm each month to try a different craft, chat and enjoy the company. No experience necessary just willingness to give it a go!

Our members asked so we created our NEW Breast Cancer Group 🩷

Join us on the last Friday of the month at 10am to get to know one other, share experiences, and give and receive support.

Our lovely experienced volunteer Alison will sit with you and our Nurse Assistant Dani is always there for a catch up.

Our wonderful Nutritionist and Breathwork therapist, Olivia, is returning to lead a Breathwork session on Thursday 8th October 1-2:30pm.

Members are invited to this relaxing session to learn about the practice and try it for themselves.

You will leave calmer, centred and clearer.

✨NEW Craft & Cuppa! 🎨🫟

Members had a great time at our first monthly art therapy group at Cherry Lodge.

**Craft & Cuppa** is led by local artist and CL volunteer Julie Westmore.

Members can attend the first Wednesday of each month from 1-2:30pm with a different crafting project to try.

On Wednesday 2nd, the task was to create bookmarks. Scroll to see the pics ✨

Coming up: 07.10 using buttons, 04.11 Christmas cards, 02.12 TBC - give us your ideas!

All levels welcome. Crafting supplies provided. You bring the chat and we have the tea/coffee. 🖌️☕️🍪

At Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, our volunteers make a huge difference to local people living with cancer. Whether you can spare a few hours, lend a helping hand or share your skills, we’d love you to join our wonderful team!

We currently have a particular need for a GARDENER 🌱 and a MAINTENANCE Volunteer 🔧 to help keep Cherry Lodge looking its best and running smoothly.

Our volunteers play a vital role behind the scenes, helping Cherry Lodge function day-to-day so that we can continue to provide our essential services and support to local people living with cancer. Every contribution, big or small, really does make a difference.

Our popular Tai Chi drop-in class IS BACK!! 🥳
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care members can join Dee for gentle, relaxing Tai Chi classes to reduce stress, improve balance, and support overall wellbeing.

Tai Chi is the perfect exercise for improving the body and relaxing the mind. Members can drop in and then join us at for coffee at the Cherry Lodge Centre at 23 Union Street afterwards every 1st and 3rd Thursday. We love seeing you! 💙

🌿 CANCER HAIR & SKINCARE — practical advice and support

We’re so excited to have confirmed Daniel Field for this special members talk at Cherry Lodge! 💚

For over 40 years, Daniel has been a specialist in hair recovery and sensitive scalp hair colour, supporting people whose hair and skin require a higher level of care.

Daniel will share practical, evidence-informed advice on hair, scalp and skincare during and after cancer treatment, including hair regrowth, colouring, wigs, toppers and other hair options - followed by an open Q&A.
