Struggles w practicing come with shame, executive dysfunction, etc.

It is seen as a lack of motivation and discipline but is that true?

Some of my music teachers tried to shame me into practice with good intentions I think, but it just gave me mental problems and not a practice habit.

Whipping musicians into massive self esteem problems can get you amazing results but does the world need so many god tier artists at the cost of their well being and the well being of the ones who didh't "make it"?

All or nothing thinking, unclear structures, fear - these stop you from becoming the best singer (or whatever) you can be.

He Xiangning was a revolutionary, a politician, a feminist. Slow Art with Friends is a lovely accessible guide to engaging deeply with the art in a non stressful but honest way.

Bring a friend to @nationalgallerysingapore to listen to each others weird and wacky impressions of the art.

It’s a nice way to bond and be in the present moment. Thanks @tateanzur for another nourishing art experience!
@serpentyne is very clever, also.

Free w general admission to the gallery, prompt booklets available at the start of the exhibition. by @cherylchittytan

Nothing like a friend you made in your youth. There was a lot of weird shit about my time in musical theatre school but I’m so happy to still be friends with Sarah <3 @sarahehaim by @cherylchittytan

CHERYL CONSUMES STUFF - this is not about singing idk I just feel like talking about things on the internet. Hyper verbal about special interests woohoo.

Like for real what is in the water over there.

This drama went so much harder than it needed to?! In terms of the writing and pacing?

It’s a large country that’s insular wrt language therefore the local market is strong enough to justify creating the mass of work needed to generate high quality.

We have also been watching Witch Hat Atelier which also like, what???

People have been saying there’s no good TV anymore and it’s really not true, it’s just that we don’t consume long form things en masse anymore.

High-achiever-itis is when you struggle to focus calmly in singing class because internally you’re screaming at yourself to ACHIEVE and DO WELL

And it sucks because it ironically hinders your progress.

Be kind to yourself!
