A little closer to putting this adventure into your hands! 🌿🐉✨

My publisher just sent this new look at *Avery & Eldrid: The Heart of the Forest*, and seeing it this way makes it all feel so real.

What began in my imagination has become a world of hidden paths, forest magic, and an unexpected friendship between a curious girl and a little green dragon.

Written for readers ages 8–10, it’s an adventure about finding courage, caring for others, and discovering what happens when you dare to take that first step. 💚

I can’t wait for you to meet Avery and Eldrid. Release details coming soon!

Who would you take on a magical forest adventure? ✨

I’m thrilled to share that *Avery & Eldrid: The Heart of the Forest* is expected to be released at the end of October!

I can’t wait to introduce you to Avery, Eldrid, and the magical world they inhabit—a place filled with friendship, courage, mystery, and adventure.

I’m also especially excited about the companion resource that will be available in the **For Educators** section of the Avery & Eldrid website. Developed by a Learning Specialist with more than 25 years of experience, the **Inclusive Literacy Framework & Instructional Guide** is designed for educators and specialists working with students in grades 2–4.

The comprehensive guide will feature multidisciplinary activities, Science of Reading and Structured Literacy supports, and AAC-friendly access points—helping more children meaningfully engage with the story and its world.

There is so much more to share in the weeks ahead, and I can’t wait to take you on this adventure!

✨ Meet Pip! ✨
Every enchanted forest needs a little mischief… and Pip has plenty to spare. 🐿️🌿
Clever, curious, and always ready with an opinion, Pip is one of the magical friends Avery meets when she steps beyond the ordinary and into a world she never knew existed.
And that glowing treasure in his paw?
Well… you’ll have to wait and see. ✨
Pip may be small, but in Avery & Eldrid: The Heart of the Forest, even the smallest creatures can play a very big part.
I’m so excited to begin introducing you to the characters who have made this story so special to me—and Pip seemed like the perfect one to start with.

For as long as I can remember, I've been telling stories. I told them to my daughters when they were young. I shared them with friends' children. Over the years, countless adventures appeared around dinner tables, bedtime routines, car rides, and family gatherings.

One story, however, stayed with me. For years, Avery and her dragon companion, Eldrid, lived quietly in my imagination, waiting for the right time to come to life. Today, seeing the first illustrations for Avery & Eldrid: The Heart of the Forest feels a little surreal. What began as stories shared with children has become a chapter book series about courage, friendship, curiosity, and discovering strengths we don't yet know we possess. This illustration captures Avery waking on her ninth birthday, unaware that an extraordinary adventure is about to begin.

Sometimes dreams wait a long time before they're ready to be pursued. I'm grateful I finally started.
