***SHOW EXTENSION
OPEN UNTIL 1st Week of OCTOBER

Super excited to announce a new photography exhibition @2324atx showing photographs from an artist photobook released earlier this year.

I hope y’all can join me for the Artist Talk happening on Thursday, JULY 23!

Please RSVP at the LINK IN BIO ⬆️

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Last year, the City of Austin emptied out Santa Rita Courts (the very first public housing project completed under the United States Housing Act of 1937).

Residents were given until the end of the year to pack up and leave.

The exhibition will show a series of black and white photographs made on New Year’s Eve before the property was fenced off and prior to the onset of demolition.

So thankful to @dbunns for his hard work in putting this show together showcasing Fil-Am artists in Austin. It was great to be amongst such a talented group.

October is Filipino American HISTORY Month! I think it’s important to know we have belonged in this country since the beginning. That means we are as invested and responsible as anyone for what this country can still become.

Fight for social justice, be anti-capitalist, anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist, fuck ICE, fuck the patriarchy and fuck white supremacy! ✊🏻✊🏾✊🏿 taken in Austin, Texas by @ches_alan

We know you’re not supposed to have a favorite Social Hour.. but our last Social Hour was up there 💖

@ches_alan led a workshop about photobooks and specifically how to sequence images. He brought his own (beautiful) images and guests sorted through them for their own photobook!

We would love to do more activities at upcoming Social Hours. :) Or maybe even a panel about accessibility in the arts as folks start thinking about opening up their spaces for AST? Maybe! 🤫 taken in 2324 Studios by @ches_alan

Spent the morning digging through my archive for images I’ve made at Big Bend over the past decade.

We all know the government’s ongoing efforts to bulldoze and destroy what has made Big Bend a magical place. For me personally, Big Bend has served as a place of healing and revelation.

This weekend, I’ll be showing a selection of images from Big Bend during @laulauatx one year anniversary.

💯% of the proceeds from print purchases will be donated to efforts against a Big Bend Wall.

Would be amazing if you come out and support! by @ches_alan
