My 6 year-old son is an energetic, playful, sweet, caring prankster. In a less than 5 years, he won’t be seen as boy but a man. He won’t be given the same break of “boys will be boys.” He will be seen as a a criminal. ⚫️
Or maybe not. As a mother of a black son, I get to have a moment of relief. ⚫️
The guilty verdict for #derekchauvin tells me that there is a line that can’t be crossed. There is more work to be done but I am taking this moment to exhale and appreciate that one can indeed go too far. There is a scenario with room for justice. by @chesahna
