Sooo…we did a thing today. Anyone who knows us knows how much true representation in a room matters for us, not just fodder. It’s very easy to not think about such circumstances when the princess looks like you, but what about my daughter and all of us. So we rented a theatre and Rori’s closest friends joined us. Because this is monumental. As a true Disney advocate, passholders etc., the fact my children have an opportunity to witness history with a princess who looks like them…well they know momma could never let that moment pass without being EXTRA🙏🏽🙌🏾. So our babies know they have a seat at the table and no one can Ever take that away from them. His sole bday request was for daddy mommy and Rori to have matching airport fits as him and to be able to go to LA LA land to see one of his OG besties (since they were 2 at the speech school) so that’s what we did for fall break. We also surprised baby girl and her bestie with neither knowing they were meeting in LA and I got to spend extended time with two amazing women I hold dear. A whirlwind time, a win for all and memories made. Because at the end of the day it’s all for them and memories are all we have ❤️. #wanderlust #family by @chesire16

Didn’t get a pic with everyone who showed up to support the 3rd Annual Game on For Hughes event but it was such a wonderful night and I’m grateful to all of you who came, all who purchased a tickets but couldn’t be in the room night of and all who just donated or purchased an auction item from the comfort of their home. Because of you, we raised $90,000 last night and all of that goes to sickle cell research for our community for our kids, and to be able to be in the room and hear the families that this impacted, made it all the more worthwhile. You are 9 today baby girl. Born on a day forever etched in the minds of Americans and during a hurricane you came out as a force to be reckoned with. Your wit and empathy give me a run for my money every day. I, we all, are in awe of such a young human being who packs so much punch for life already!! Intellect off the charts, voracious reader, queen of the clap backs, humor like your daddy, fierce advocate for your brother even when he’s in the wrong and the best of friends to your friends never leaving anyone out and always looking out for people’s feelings. You lead with kindness and GRIT. The world is not ready for you baby girl, your heart is one for the books Ro and you give the best hugs. I would say I’m lucky to be your mama but it’s not just luck. Year 27 had you taking me to unaltered paradise for 6 days. No planning on my end, wandering aimlessly with you having attended to every detail. That was the true gift and I know you knew/ know that. You gifted me the ability to turn off. This life we have built brick by brick; weathering everything together. Is it a fairytale to some; probably, but for us it we know what it has taken to get here. So we play hard, love fiercely, laugh when we can, love on our babies and try to allow each space other to be unapologetically themselves.
