Hello and welcome to Chestnut Hill Optometry! This account and content are a labor of love run by myself, Erin Sherman, OD, FAAO. I am an assistant professor at Salus University (soon to be Drexel University) working specifically for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia and Elkins Park, PA.

I am a 2016 graduate of PCO and completed my primary care/ocular disease residency at the East Orange VA Hospital associated with SUNY. I am an undergrad drop out but attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. I've got quite the passion for clinical teaching. While the content will heavily focus on retinal and nerve disease, I enjoy anterior segment and coding/billing as well. I'm currently working on figuring out what type of anterior segment camera would work best for our clinic - let me know your thoughts if you've got them.

Most content, specifically images, will be from my personal collection of patients I've seen at our Chestnut Hill satellite clinic. Occasionally I will share images or cool cases from other CH providers at their discretion. by @chestnuthilloptometry

I might be a bit crazy, but reinforcing PERFUSED instead of pink when student’s describe the NRR is a hill I will die on.

Think you’d ever call the rim orange or yellow?

Maybe it doesn’t seem so crazy…but don’t do it. by @chestnuthilloptometry
