Chet had a shirt and a navy suit laid out, he looked at it for a moment, and reached for an Oasis t shirt and a cap instead. The navy suit stayed. When I asked him for one sentence that describes how he dresses, he said: ‘’Don't forget to have fun.’’

In this trade we can sometimes take clothes very seriously. Cloth weights, lapel widths, trousers cuff width. Chet is not in the field, and that turns out to be a privilege. He enjoys tailoring without overthinking it, and it shows in the pictures.

He's not shy about where he looks for inspiration too. Different people, and above all movie characters. Richard Gere in the eighties and nineties came up more than once, and honestly, who could argue with that.

The biggest thing I took away from Chet is simple. Dressing well is a craft, but sometimes it is just meant to be fun. A good suit can carry the seriousness so you don't have to.
