Therapists, dietitians, nurses, and physicians are often the first to see the signs of an eating disorder. Too many of them were never trained to recognize those signs.

When warning signs are missed, people wait longer for care, and recovery becomes harder. Early identification starts with education.

This is why we created the Eating Disorders Education Institute, to provide training that creates a system of early identification and intervention and end the terrible fact that 1 person dies every 52 minutes from an eating disorder.

People can absolutely recover from eating disorders, but it requires educated and skilled care.

At the @eatingdisorderseducation we are building education for clinicians that can be taken on your own time, includes CEU/CME and there is a program for the provider who wants to be a specialist in treating the disorders or who wants to know enough to support their clients/patients so they get the care they need.

I've spent 20+ years in the field of eating disorders trying to create change. The field is in motion and many of the issues that my colleagues and I have worked to bring into the light are now the norm, thankfully. And, there is a long way to go. This is why the @eatingdisorderseducation institute is so important to me. I know first hand that education creates change.

The more we understand eating disorders, the better equipped we are to recognize concerns, question misconceptions, and respond with informed, compassionate support.

The EDCS credential includes 11 courses, 25+ hours of CEUs, and a practicum with highly experienced eating disorders clinicians. Practicum is included in the price. No hunting for your own supervision, no separate bill.
