✨MEET THE ARTIST 2026 Edition✨

Can you believe it’s that time again already?? In case you’re new here, I post a new “Meet the Artist” drawing every year on the same day to have an easy way to see my growth as an artist over the years. Here’s what improved this year:

-Hair! Still not great at it, but definitely better.
-Draping of clothing. It still confounds me most of the time, but I am beginning to understand it.
-Shadows. I’m getting a bit braver. Sometimes my shadow lines are actually visible 🤣
-Hands. I know you can’t see them in this and I still try to hide them when I can, but when I can’t, they actually don’t look terrible and I don’t struggle with them for nearly as long.
-Sticking with a style. Obviously art styles change naturally over the course of time, but I did a lot less experimenting with different styles this year and had a pretty regular process with each piece, which was fun!

As always, swipe to see past years’ “Meet the Artist” to see the growth!

I’m excited to see how much I grow this year!

I fear I may have just unlocked a whole new level of nerd. 🫣🤩🤓

Can I read everything on this page without referencing the Aurebesh alphabet? Yes. Am I really slow at it? Also yes 🤣 But as with many things, I can only believe that practice will make me faster!

But seriously, this scratches an itch in my brain in ways I cannot explain except that it’s perfectly combining three things that I love: Star Wars, reading, and, in a way, cryptograms (letter substitution puzzles).

If you want to know how I did this, comment or message me and I’ll send you the instructions! (It’s super easy!)

Day 15 of @savvyyart #savvyystarwarssept prompt is YOU IN STAR WARS.

Welcome, class, to Aurebesh 101! Your professor is a bit late to the prompt today, but better late than never! As an Aurebesh enthusiast irl, I think I’d love to be an Aurebesh teacher in a galaxy far far away!

Thank you as always to @savvyyart for hosting this challenge, and I promise not to miss the first 4 days next year! Haha

Day 14 of @savvyyart #savvyystarwarssept prompt is ANAKIN OR OBI-WAN?

I decided to lean into the competition implied by the prompt and turn it on its head a bit. We all know that Anakin, bless him, causes far more problems than Obi-Wan and Ahsoka probably started a tally at some point just to shut them up when they argued about it. I missed out on drawing Ahsoka earlier in this challenge, and I love drawing her, so I was so excited to include her in this one!

Something a little different today for @savvyyart #savvyystarwarssept! Today’s prompt is YOUR HOME PLANET WOULD BE…? and Lothal is ALWAYS my pick for this! Not only is it a regular location in my favorite Star Wars project, everything about the landscape is exactly what I look for in a place to live.

Did y’all know that my first art medium I used with regularity was writing?? I got really into drawing once I got my iPad because I love learning new things, but lately, I’ve been feeling the itch to write again, so I whipped up a very short story for this prompt! I’m a little rusty, so don’t judge me too harshly, haha. Swipe through the post to read it!

Day 8 of @savvyyart #savvyystarwarssept prompt is LOTH CAT.

The clear idea for me with this prompt was to draw my own cats as loth cats! On most days they coexist peacefully, but the mutual side eye is absolutely the best way to visually represent their relationship 🤣

Day 7 of @savvyyart #savvyystarwarssept prompt is EPISODE V.

I always look forward to seeing what prompt is on Day 7 because that’s my birthday every year during the challenge! I always try to draw something that makes me happy for my birthday prompt, so this year, I finally finished my third Wampa mashup that I’d been ignoring since I did my Wampa x Fozzie mashup and my Wampa x Mrs. Nesbitt mashup in 2024! (Swipe to see these ones!) This one is Wampa x The Abominable Snowman! I don’t know why my brain came up with three different mashups for the same obscure beast in Episode V, but here we are 🤣 And now I have drawn all of them!

Which Wampa mashup is your favorite??
