12-year-old Sidonie “Sid” May Jones lives in the sleepy seaside town of Fathom. She loves drawing highly detailed memory maps and is viewed as odd by her fellow classmates. Sid accidentally frees the spirit of Ezekiel “Bones” Kittow, a pirate and his spectral parrot, Elizabeth, who both died nearly three hundred years ago. To move on to the afterlife, Bones must resolve his “unfinished business” which he assumes is finding his long-lost buried treasure but his memory isn’t the best. Accompanied by her best friend Zen, Sid must decipher clues and outrun Old Scratch, a sinister entity hunting down lost souls.

This was a fantastic book about celebrating of one’s weirdness and standing up to peer pressure.

The babysitter tries to endear herself to the children but Gwen is the only person that sees and feels something wrong with the babysitter. Gwen sees something sinister hiding behind the babysitter’s hungry eyes and sharp teeth.

This book is perfect for fans of Neil Gaiman’s “The Ocean at the End of the Lane“ as well as fans of the new movie “Other Mommy”.

This is a WWII urban fantasy table-top role-playing game. You play one of six undead soldiers (F.A.N.G.) from the Allied Forces in World War that have been airdropped into occupied Paris with the goal to assassinate Hitler and, hopefully, end the war.

Eat the Reich is a lavishly illustrated, beautifully written 72-page rulebook and it has a little bit of everything. It uses a simple D6 dice pool system. Players declare their intent and work out the size of their dice pool.

An unnamed man is running away from an unknown force. The narrator is wounded both physically and emotionally. Battered and exhausted from running he finally stops at a hotel for the night. As he is guided to his room he tells his sordid tale of woe to the night clerk.

The narrator recounts his serendipitous ten-year marriage to a girl he met in college. The story descends swiftly into uncomfortable tension. After a traumatic roof injury, the protagonist begins to realize something is influencing his wife to hurt him.

“The Nudge” is an atmospheric slow-burn tale of suspense and dread. Fink’s writing is steady and strong, and the story is truly chilling. It features some gorgeous illustrations from Jessica Hayworth who is also the artist of Fink’s popular Night Vale series.
