For a long time I thought the swelling, pressure, pain, and exhaustion were just things I had to live with. Especially as a trans and nonbinary person, it’s easy to disconnect from these organs and ignore what they’re trying to tell you.

This experience is layered. There’s grief, relief, fear, and validation all at the same time.

If you are trans, nonbinary, queer, or anyone with these parts and you feel like something is “off,” please advocate for yourself. You deserve care. You deserve to be heard. And you deserve answers.

You are not dramatic. You are not overreacting. Your pain is real.

These two people are drastically different. The person on the left was battling a new C-PTSD diagnosis that they also blamed it for the reason they couldn’t stop self medicating. Not only did they struggle with that but there was a 4.5 lbs fibroid growing in their uterus, kidney stones in both kidneys and an IUD imbedded in the muscle at the same time. Cut to: the person on the right. I’m still trying to slowly take in how much I’m falling back in love with life again… Allowing myself patience on days I remind myself of the person on the left more so the right… I’m not striving for perfection and am allowing myself mistakes along the way but I know I want to stay on this stupid floating rock and see what else this star dust has in store for me. Sending love and patience to everyone with everything feeling so f*ing heavy these days. Listen to your body and ask for help when you need it. Don’t wait. 🫶🏼✨ by @chey.byrd
