“She makes sure to keep that news on the streets, when we have something good going on, not just bad.” 🙏🏿
Last week I hosted One Day at a Time’s Annual Candlelight Vigil & Community Festival 💙🧡 Thank you @president.odaat & @hitouchinc for always supporting me! I also moderated a panel on breaking the poverty mindset and sat down with @wallo267 @gilliedaking for a chair side conversation 💪🏿 @phillyfreeway @druhill4real @suzannchristine @kingofhooks @iwillsing2u also hit the stage with performances 🎶

The event is held each year to bring resources to the community for those struggling with homelessness, addiction, HIV/AIDS, and violence.

It’s so easy to feel like you didn’t achieve anything until you write it all out and wow…. Looking back at this year, some of my proudest moments professionally were spent in the community. I’ve never been someone who just wants to be a “face” on TV, pouring into others is actually my purpose. Walking into 2024 I knew that was something I wanted to do more of especially with me being home in Philly and God really had these opportunities fall in my lap.

Usually as journalists our station books most of our public appearances, but these were all events I secured on my own through connections I worked hard to build 🤝🏿

-Co-hosted the return of Wadsworth Day
-Hosted ODAAT’s Candle Light Vigil w CEO Mel Wells, Wallo & Gillie
-Hosted African American Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at Citizens Bank Park
-Judge at Miss WCU
-Judge at WCU Miss Black & Gold
-Keynote Speaker @ Plymouth Whitemarsh Unity Day
-Judge at North Penn High School’s Black History Month competition
-Featured Speaker at Women in Media’s Power Blazer Fundraiser
-Mistress of Ceremonies at Frankford Community Development Corporation’s Community Heroes Award Breakfast
-Keynote Speaker at WCU Black Student Union Unity Day
-I was also honored with the African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE “Impact 10: Leaders & Legacy” award
-Became a board member of the Influencing Action Movement dedicated to mentoring Philly students

This doesn’t even include the several Philly schools I attended to speak at various career days.

Thank you to the plug @theblacktealover and so many other people such as @president.odaat who held space for me this year.

Keep the bookings coming in 2025🥂 by @cheyennecorin
