last cheer banquet ever 😢

cheerleading has been a part of my life since i was 10 years old. it was always a place i could call home, and escape from everything else in my life. no matter how many times i would complain or want to quit, i always came back like nothing ever happened. through all of the injuries, sicknesses, tears, ups and downs, i always found myself persevering. from middle school, high school, different competitive gyms, and college, i have gained many lifelong friendships. i am so thankful to have met all of the wonderful people i can call my family. being surrounded by people who genuinely wanted the best for me and supported me through it all, is what made it so special. i will forever cherish all the memories i made throughout this journey. i was so lucky to be able to continue my cheerleading career in college and have the opportunity to be a part of this program at ou. i will always be grateful for this opportunity as it has changed my life completely. not only did i grow as an athlete, i learned so many life lessons and skills that i will carry with me for the rest of my life. being able to wear oklahoma across my chest these past 4 years has been so special. competing at nationals all 4 years, beating alabama at home, cheering march madness in LA, and so many more memories/experiences that i will always remember. life without cheerleading will definitely be different, and it is hard to accept that i will not get any of these moments back. thank you to everyone who has helped me get here, supported me, and pushed me to be better. here’s to new beginnings!! i am officially hanging up my cheer shoes and closing this chapter of my life. cheerleading will always be my first love🤍

this is a tough one…
i have been the most grateful to wear oklahoma across my chest for the past 4 years. the friendships i have created, the skills and life lessons i have learned, and the memories i have made, will all be things i will cherish forever. this team and program will forever hold a special place in my heart. this is not how i pictured my ending, but there is still so much to be thankful for. i love OU all girl with my entire heart, thank you for taking a chance on me🤍 taken in ESPN Wide World Of Sports, Orlando by @cheyennemh_
