I can finally say that my first article for my Plus-Size Fashion Column with @essence is out now, and I wanted to open with a much needed conversation about the state of the fat community, plus-size influencer culture and how these things have deeply impacted fat fashion. As a journalist and storyteller, who is also fat, seeing these changes really compelled me to write about them, but it wasn’t easy. In truth, I am grieving the losses of comrades, clothes, and community, and I’m thankful to have this sacred yet necessary conversation.

Happy almost October folks!

I’m really trying so hard to stay afloat and support myself, and while I’m thankful to not have to ask for help as much as I have in the past, I still unfortunately need it. It’s been a very hard 3 years,

These last few days have been a lot on my mental health. I am happy to be alive and to be 32, but everything seems so bleak, scary, and unpredictable. I’m very burnt out, drained, and confused by the state of everything, but I’m feeling so inspired to keep going and be softer on myself.
