It's been 2 months since releasing the music video for "BREAK". I'm so grateful for the love received so far. This is truly a labor of love, pain, grief, resilience and more in order to manifest the collaboration necessary to bring this to life.

From digging deep to write and arrange this song years ago...to recording, filming, surviving, revisiting and everything in between. I'm looking forward to what other lives this song and visual takes on.

I'll be sharing more behind the scenes, for a chance to see how detailed and beautifully thoughtful this process was! 🤌🏾

God blessed me to live through something unimaginable. My prayer was to continue to live my life as my highest self and to share my light artfully, authentically and meaningfully with intention and love. This is a huge part of my contribution and I hope to continue to reach hearts & minds through it. 🙏🏾

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to sit down (again after about 8 years) with friend & Radio DJ / Content Director @hlevin77 at @kxcitucson & @kxcihomestretch , to chat about tomorrow's @Chezspirit : 'New Life Day Celebration & Benefit Concert' at @hotelcongress ...and just my new life in general. This one is special and a FIRST of its kind.

I will also be premiering a NEW single & music video exclusively screening at the special event.

Thank you Hannah & KXCI for supporting my artistry over the years. You have a special way of making me feel comfortable and it feeling just like a regular conversation between two friends. 🫂

This time last year, I released and exclusively premiered the song and music video for "BREAK". Also 1 year to the day I was gifted new life. It was truly unforgettable as the emotion filled the courtyard.

Thought I would sing from the heart, real and raw to commemorate it's release. Those who know, understand the significance around this one. To sing out from my gut requires a bit more from me these days. While much has been lost, one thing for certain that hasn't been taken is my voice.

Looking forward to the wings this song continues to grow. 🦋

ChezSpirit (Chezale Rodriguez & Wade Antonio Colwell) in collaboration with Nicci Radhe invite community members to connect through diverse, thoughtful and transformative engagements. Facilitated by each artist team member, we together face the harmful impacts of substance misuse and stigma with an artful experience of Hope, Heart & Healing…offering the possibility for positive personal and social change.

The 2026 SaludArte project is a public art and public health initiative by the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona and the Pima County Health Department. The program commissions artists to co-create community-driven artwork designed to challenge substance misuse stigma, foster dialogue, and promote healing throughout Pima County.

I'm both honored and taken by surprise to just find out that I've been recognized by the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona @gssoaz as a 'Woman of Honor'. 🎗

This marks a major milestone: 90 years of inspiring girls to lead with courage, confidence and character. To celebrate, the Girl Scouts launched the “90 Years Strong” campaign in 2025...

“Honoring 90 Women” features outstanding women across all sectors of the community who make Southern Arizona stronger through leadership, mentorship and service.

I'm about 6 months behind the announcement, but it's never too late to relish in celebration and appreciation! 🎉 🙌🏾 About a year ago, I was told that I was nominated by a lovely and gifted young lady I met named Olivia early last year at Davis Bilingual Elementary School as part of the 'Somos El Puente' program, beautifully led by @wadeintheworld . I had a chance to work with her and the mariachi group, 'Las Aguilitas'. 🎵
I was in awe of her and her fellow students singing and playing violin. I saw myself in her. I sang throughout my school years and played violin from elementary school to high school. I hadn't touched a violin in 25 years, but she was so kind to let me try hers! 💞🎻🥹

A special thank you to Olivia, the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona and congratulations to all of the women who were honored!

My life's journey has been all but easy, but it's moments like these that help you realize...no matter how small the seeds we plant, it's how we nurture them that allows for opportunities to grow and flourish larger than we could ever imagine. Keep nurturing your seeds.

A clip of my 'Lineage Motif' project from my Master's in Dance Education program at UNCO.

This was recorded months before my life-altering event occurred and before intercepting everything, including graduating late 2023.

Commemorating Juneteenth ✊🏾and recent Puerto Rican Pride events 🇵🇷, I felt inspired to share this project which is rooted in my Black American and Puerto Rican lineage/heritage. A deep dive of sorts. (And to think, I was being surveilled by a drone while recording early in the morning at a neighborhood park, minding my joyful business. Welcome to America. Smh. 😑)

Nonetheless, I enjoyed creating this special memory. Enjoy. 💛✨️

Following facilitating at this year's Disabilities Studies Conference at the University of Arizona, I was able to sit in an intimate room of fellow awardees to be presented the 'Advocate for Equity in Accessibility - Community Award', directly from the awesome Disabled Staff & Faculty Coalition @uarizonadsfc ! 🙌🏾🏆

I'm honored, inspired and giddy with gratitude! 😁

I hope to continue to grow in my advocacy through my life and life's work. Thank you for the kind acknowledgement! 💛✨️

The team is comprised of Chezale Rodriguez (@chezalepresents), Wade Antonio Colwell (@wadeintheworld), and Nicci Radhe (@nicci_radhe). Now in its third iteration, SaludArte is a public art and public health collaboration that supports artist-led projects at the intersection of community engagement, equity, and public health practices.⁠

Story Time...

Even though I've had a lifelong relationship with dance, I've also experienced ebbs & flows as it pertains to carving out intentional time to dance. Mostly because life be life-ing. And still...

Even when I was teaching in the classroom, I still needed ample time with myself and my body (and often music) to find inspiration and to keep moving. I would use my planning time after school to record myself dancing just to get it out, while also having fun! 😁

Fast forward to the era of dance challenges with the advent of social media (Vine, TikTok, IG etc.)... I found myself getting joy out of jumping in and even creating my own. And it felt DANG good!

Life has been very different for me these past 2+ years, trying to navigate such a huge change and relearning what movement feels and looks like in my body now. Even when it's often uncomfortable.

But one thing's for certain, when I hear music and see people dancing everywhere online...I can't help but get the itch to hop back in from time to time. So if you see me pop out occasionally here, don't be surprised. I'm only picking up where I left off. Just show love and maybe even join in! 💛

📝 Note: If there's anything creative you've been yearning to get back to, I encourage you to take that leap of faith. I promise you'll be better for it.
