RIP Zenaba -

Ive spent the last two days trying to find the right words to describe how much Loraine Zenaba meant to me. Even as I write this I haven't found them so bare with me as I shoot straight from the hip.

When I first met Zenaba I was met with such warmth and love that is becoming more and more rare in the modern age. There wasn't a single person who she didn't meet that she made feel like family. She would also go above and beyond even if she only knew you somewhat. It spoke to the type of person she is, nurturing, caring, and kind. That said you never get on her bad side because she also fought fiercely for the people she loved.

The one person she loved the most is her son Hassan. She loved and supported him as they literally traveled the world before finding themselves in the Bay Area. She definitely raised a good man and so much of who Zenaba was now lives in him.

Whenever I look back at the many memories of my life when myself and Hassan were working on our millions of projects in music, art, filmmaking, sports, you name it she was always there to cheer us on. She was always there to listen to whatever crazy idea Hassan and I were concocting. She wasn't just a friend, she was family.

Zenaba, I hope you know how much you meant to me. From the day I walked into Cafe Axe to the last time I saw you at the care home I appreciated every single moment we had together, I wish I told you that more often. I'm going to miss hearing your laugh when we all tried to tell each other the most inappropriate jokes. I'm gonna miss your amazing cooking. I'm gonna miss your sense of adventure. I'm going to miss you yelling "Bombaclat" whenever I told you a story of me messing something up (that word belongs to you now by the way, in my own personal dictionary you are credited as inventor of that word, I don't care what history says). I'm gonna miss seeing you listening or watching Hassan and I crafting some new ideas. I'm going to miss your warmth and hospitality. I'm gonna miss watching movies with you. Most of all I'm just gonna miss you.
