Celebrated 24 with my closest people❤️Haven’t laid eyes on some of them in 3 years yet they all made the time. There is no string of words that can encompass the love and gratitude I have for my best friends. Feeling particularly blessed this birthday by @chia.oden

So you ruptured your plantar fascia, abruptly ending your beloved beloved track career BUT you

- controlled every controllable leading up to that day
- cherished every day of training and competition in real time
- could not have predicted this bruh
- still have teammates to cheer on (past&present)
- have undamaged face muscles that work easiest in a smile
- might as well make the most of it

The alternative is being devastated because you did absolutely everything you could to compete happy&healthy this year and it was enough until it wasn’t. Which is reasonable! But I like the first frame of view better. Perspective changes everything by @chia.oden

At 18, 19, 20, 21 I really struggled, because I knew I was never meant to be an engineer. And then I told myself to stfu. Because self sabotage is not cute. Self-belief is significantly cuter. This degree means quite a bit, because I followed through on some promises I made to myself before leaving Brown. You are meant to be whatever the hell you set your sights on being. Eek!
