Romanticizing life abroad (especially in Paris!) is a full-time job on social media, but the reality is much more diverse, complex, and way more interesting!
What "real Parisians" look like? Just regular people 💫 people living the everyday hustle, the crowded public transports, the messy and lazy weekends... and still finding beauty in it, even if it doesn't fit in an aesthetic 15-seconds reel.

🌍Moving abroad is a hard journey: the last thing you need is a fake, "catchy" version of reality!

As an #expatconsultant and content creator, my job isn't to sell you a dream or picture Paris as a flawless movie set.
My daily job is to give you the real tools, clear facts, and honest insights you need to build a successful and NO FILTER life in France 🇫🇷✨

I love my life abroad, but I despise lies and sugarcoating!
I instead value nuances, honesty, and genuine respect above all else 💞

#octobrerose🎀🩷 strikes again

Since 2014, the Eiffel Tower lits up in pink each September 30th to launch the Octobre Rose, the major breast cancer information and awareness campaign.

💝 Octobre rose is a full month dedicated to information, prevention, awareness, and early screening, supporting initiatives and events across the entire country 🇫🇷

🇫🇷 1° ottobre, 13esimo "expatversario" per me ✨

Esattamente 13 anni fa, con un volo di sola andata iniziava la mia avventura parigina in Erasmus. Un anno dopo, stessa data, mi trasferivo a Parigi a tempo indeterminato ❤️
Quante cose sono cambiate da allora: sono cresciuta, maturata, sono diventata forse un po' più cinica e disillusa.
Ma mai dimenticherò tutto ciò che questa città mi ha dato, tutto ciò che ho costruito qui giorno per giorno, tutte le conquiste e le delusioni che comunque fanno parte del mio percorso.

Qui ho iniziato a vivere da sola, a guadagnare i miei primi soldi, a fare i miei primi viaggi, a vivere le mie prime vere avventure.
Qui ho capito cosa vuol dire amare ed odiare allo stesso tempo il posto in cui vivi.
Ho imparato a riconoscerne le contraddizioni e a non darle mai più per scontate.
Nel bene e nel male, scegliere Parigi mi ha cambiato la vita per sempre. È stato il mio luogo delle "prime volte" e come tale avrà un sempre un posto speciale dentro di me.

Poco importa cosa avrà in serbo il destino per me, "Paris sera toujours Paris" ✨🇫🇷

👇🏻Read this before dropping a comment:
💫After 13 years in Paris, I’ve learned that the time has come to slow down... but NOT because the city taught me to, like the romantic cliché wants you to believe.
It's because real life in the working-class, day-to-day Paris, is not the one (too often) shared on social media.

Not all workweeks last 35 hours (worst sugarcoating ever).
Traffic jam might be heavy.
Commuting in the middle of a heatwave without air conditioning is no joke at all.
The pace of work and life is fast and intense for many of us.

🧘🏻‍♀️Because of this, when I'm not in Paris, I only look for a few essential things:
🍃silence, peace, and connection with nature.
I stopped chasing exclusive events or museum free-entry Sundays.
The perfect weekend can look just like a movie on the couch, a book and a cup of tea 📚🍵If you've been living abroad for a long, you know what I mean ❤️

Paris is beautiful and will always be.
But it taught me to look more often for what she sometimes lacks: silence and a cosy vibe ✨

🇫🇷🇫🇮A few more snaps of the cutest store in Paris 💫

✨For the first time in France, the Moomin pop-up store opened its doors on September 12th, and welcomed new and long-term Moomin lovers.
❄️ From clothes to memorabilia, from bags to accessories, the Moomin store offers a huge selection of lovely goods and gift ideas.
💖The atmosphere is joyful, relaxed, and cosy. I would say... very "Moominy"!

✨ Fête de Paris: 4th edition 🇫🇷🎉

For the first time in 13 years, I had the chance to admire 15 centuries of Parisian life walking and dancing in the streets of the 6th arrondissement ❤️ celebrating French heritage from monarchy to the Liberation of Paris.
Each participant played their characters joyfully and beautifully 💫

✨ But Fête de Paris was way more than a historical parade!
For a weekend, the historical village was hosted by André Honnorat Square and the Observatory Gardens: a Viking encampment, a Belle Époque district, a medieval town... all with their painters, wood carvers, artists, and many other artisans 🎨
It was like traveling with a time machine ❤️

Just for a weekend, and despite everything... let's remember that Paris is a moveable feast, like someone said a while ago 🇫🇷🎉

The Moomins are finally here 🇫🇮🇫🇷

I live in Paris but I do LOVE the Nordics ✨
If you follow me, you know it well!

I could not miss this new pop-up store, dedicated to the adorable Troll characters created by the Finnish author Tove Jansson.
Ⓜ️Come and see them in the 2nd arrondissement, rue Étienne Marcel, but ONLY before October 4th!
The venue is small but very well supplied (clothes, bags, memorabilia...), so be ready to queue for a little while!

Open on Sundays and Mondays from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
From Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

The Moomins land in Paris 🇫🇮
A new pop-up store, dedicated to the tender characters from the Finnish author Tove Jansson, opens today in the 2nd arrondissement, rue Étienne Marcel.

The venue will stay open for three weeks, until October 4, 2026.
It will be open Sundays and Mondays from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
On the other days, from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

Just for a weekend, between the 5th and 6th districts, Paris will host a journey through 1500 years of Parisian life 🇫🇷

The city will turn into a giant village animated by actors and craftsmen in period costume, dancers, wood carvers, creative workshops and a parade on Sunday.
You'll find a Viking camp, a Belle Epoque quarter, a Napoleonic encampment, a medieval village... and much more!
✨ The event is mostly free, but do not forget to book your free spot for the Sunday Parade!!

Gulahallat exhibition is organised in partnership with Oulu 2026 European Capital of Culture 🇫🇮
It features artworks and handicrafts from the Rovaniemi Art Museum and the Sámi Museum Siida, located in the Sámi homeland area ❤️

This summer break gave me a chance to step back, chill, and take care of things that really matter: my partner, my family, my beloved books, and other little things that make me happy ✨ Great for offline resting, but even better for a #digitaldetox.
As a freelance expat consultant, my feed is (unfortunately!) my daily bread. I decided a long time ago to make my digital space based on nuance, mutual respect, and unfiltered truth.

Life abroad comes with its highs and lows, but relying on fake headlines, cheap country-bashing disguised as "humor," or endless negativity isn't helping anyone truly prepare for the big move 🇫🇷🌎 It just feeds noise, hatred, and anxiety.
I thus refuse to consume content that bullies, misleads, or spreads negativity just for clicks.
I don't want to leave social media, not yet ❤️
I just decided to curate my space and unfollow anyone who brings toxic energy, drama, or misinformation.
