POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

God has a plan for me and i trust it.

on monday, instead of heading to the netherlands for world championships, i ended up in an appointment with a surgeon. due to the mri results on my shoulder, it would not have been safe to push myself to compete, although i wanted to so badly. the surgery (labrum repair and bicep tenodesis) was completed yesterday and went really well. thank you @intermountain and @reverehealth for taking such good care of me. i am so grateful, and thank you everyone for the sweet prayers, comments and messages.

thank you @philippinegymnastics for all of the amazing opportunities so far. i am ready to recover and work harder than ever.

there is no perfect story, and i believe that’s what makes them so beautiful. i will take recovery day by day and trust where it leads me and the answers God gives me. i am still optimistic and hopeful thanks to my Savior, Jesus Christ. i will keep moving forward and become a stronger version of myself for it.❤️‍🩹 by @chiaradandrew

Another member of the @FilAmSports family headed to Japan for the 2026 Asian Games is Philippine Women’s Artistic Gymnast Chiara Andrew.

Chiara has proudly represented the Philippines in international competition, highlighted by her performance at the 2022 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, where she helped the Philippine women’s artistic gymnastics team capture gold. She also finished sixth in the individual all-around and advanced to the floor exercise final.

She has continued to compete for country, including at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Chiara also competed collegiately for Brigham Young University (BYU), where she continued to develop as a gymnast while maintaining her commitment to representing the Philippines.

Chiara’s family roots are in Cavite, and she is extremely proud of her Caviteño heritage. Every opportunity to wear the Philippine colors is another chance to represent not only the country, but also her family.

Laban Pilipinas, Laban, Chiara!

We're excited to welcome Chiara Andrew to the FilAm Sports family! (@chiaradandrew)

Inspired by her two older sisters, Chiara spent her childhood doing cartwheels around the house, jumping off the couch, and practicing the splits before she was even old enough for gymnastics. On her fourth birthday, her mom enrolled her in her first class, and the rest is history.

With family roots in Manila and Cavite City, wearing the Philippine colors has become one of the greatest honors of her career.

After transitioning from NCAA gymnastics to international competition, Chiara competed in the all-around at her first Asian Championships and helped the Philippine women's team qualify for the upcoming Asian Games.

"I was especially proud of how our team came together at the Asian Championships to earn that qualifying spot."

That team-first mindset defines who she is.

Chiara credits her mother for teaching her perseverance and says her faith in God has guided every step of her journey.

For her, representing the Philippines is about honoring her family's heritage, giving back to the gymnastics community, and representing everyone at the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (@philippinegymnastics) who welcomed and believed in her.

Looking ahead, her goals are clear: qualify for the World Championships, earn a spot at the LA 2028 Olympic Games, continue supporting her teammates, and inspire the next generation.

Her advice to young athletes:

"The hard days and the setbacks are blessings too. They help shape who you become. Simply having the opportunity to compete is something to be grateful for."

Welcome to the @filamsports family, Chiara.
