i’ll be honest. my summer was SHIT. i got laid off. my heart was broken a plethora of times. disappointed by life at every turn. and on top of all that, my grandpa tim became an ancestor. this summer was rough. so wrote this poem. but it wasn’t enough. i want my work to be fluid, a motion. so i made this to share. and i’ll be making more. because my art is worthy and so am i. here’s a little piece of my heart. enjoy.

long caption, here’s a summary: it’s a mystery how i always win. 🦋

you know those moments when life shows its face and reminds you that you have zero control over what happens next? yeah, i’ve been learning that lesson a lot lately. 🥲 i was recently in an accident that could’ve easily taken my life. however, i was blessed to come out without a scratch on me. healing from this traumatic experience is a long road full of tears and exhaustion, but each day gets easier and community has truly shown out for me. big shout out to my sibling @queen_hibbler_ for being my rock essentially while i cry my way through this tough time. 🙂‍↕️👯‍♀️

despite life’s battles, good days find their way to the surface. i’m excited to announce that ‘summer surgery’ has been published in the infamous @chicago_reader in their halloween issue! 🎃 this piece means wonders to me and i’m so ecstatic to see its reach on the world. go to your nearest box for a copy or find my poem online via the link in my bio.

life is beautiful in such a strange way.

my first solo trip coincided with the grief of my sweet grumpy dog, krane. i took it in stride, living fully as he would have. cried in public, danced until my legs gave out, subway surfed like it was my own personal limousine. when our loved ones die, furry or not, we have a responsibility, an honor, to live on for them. thank you new york city for a place to land and thank you ancestors for keeping me safe in my exploration. here’s to the beginning of my nomad era! 🌱
