Long post...

This seems like it has been a long time coming.

I received my associates degree in 1989 from Lexington College of Hospitality Careers. I thought I had achieved something. Worked at the Chicago Hilton for a year and decided to return to complete my bachelor's. Applied to TSU and was told I'd have to start over, Lexington was not accredited. I was pissed to the point that I sent a nasty letter to the president of the school. You see, my great-grandmother left me money for school, so I paid out of my pocket. Graduated in the top of my class (though it was only 20 of us. Lol.). Bottom line, if I wanted another degree, I was going to have to start over.

Decided to attend Columbia College. Did one year, and I owed them money, so I started working to pay them back and have worked ever since. Then life happened. Children, marriage, and divorce, but it was still my goal to complete my undergraduate studies.

When my children got older, I applied to NLU, and I vowed to myself to be a better student than before. My children inspired me! I had a 4.0 GPA before I moved and it is a 3.9. One class tripped me up, but i received a letter for induction and just completed the program. I still have a year and a half before I walk the stage, but I will be doing it with honors! by @chicago_sol
