Tonight's ride: four guys, one Uber driver, and music that went from '60s country to stadium rock anthems to full on house beats.

They told me they were headed to a dance club which, I suppose, was technically true (iykyk)...

Rowdy in the best way, these boys brought the kind of energy that keeps a Saturday night shift from being boring. Some nights the job is just driving. Tonight it was a mobile party with a killer playlist.

Thanks for the fun, fellas! @daileyrealty

Diabetic eye care! It's important!

On today's episode of Kelley's Diabetic Life Over 60, our heroine takes a trip to the retinologist for an eye injection to get (and KEEP) her retinopathy under control.

I recently learned something about myself!

I've been fighting my body's natural internal clock for decades, something doctors call circadian misalignment. It's linked to elevated cortisol, blood sugar problems, hypertension, and chronic inflammation (all things I've been struggling with).

I've always been a night owl but I've spent most of my life forcing myself into a morning schedule that felt awful

I just started driving overnight this week and woke up today at 2pm (went to sleep at 6am) feeling truly rested for the first time ever. I'm so happy and...I don't know how else to describe it. I just feel like, "Ah! So THIS is how you day people feel - this is amazing! No wonder you all try to get everyone else on board with your crazy day schedules - if I felt this great during the day, I'd be telling everyone that whole 'the early bird gets the worm' thing, too!"

PS - selfie at the leaning tower of Niles between rides last night! 😄

You know I love my riders but these two beautiful souls just took the cake!!

Eva and Dreya flew into Chicago from Ohio to check out, of all things, Medieval Times! I offered to drive them there and back so they could rest assured they'd have a good driver they felt comfortable with for all of it (it's an hour plus each way, y'all) and, before I knew it, we got along so well that I became their Uber Mom on duty for the whole weekend! I just dropped them off at the airport (booo!) but we're already planning for their return trip in August 😄❤️

We may have been (and by that I mean we definitely were) driving down State Street with the rooftop open singing "Believe" at the top of our lungs as I drove them to the club last night!

PS - we were at a red light when we took this photo

I've been everywhere, man!

I was born in Oakland and moved to Chicago when I was halfway through kindergarten. I will forever be an A's fan (and a Sox fan but that's not relevant to this convo), no matter what.

Imagine my surprise when, on a long drive from West Loop out to Elgin, my Uber rider, who I'd been chatting with about NorCal suddenly asked if I liked the A's. When I exclaimed in the affirmative, she said, "Well, NOW I know why I brought this today - here, I have something for you!" and she handed me this limited edition New Era A's hat! I kept trying to give it back to her but she wouldn't hear of it. What a gift!

PS - as if the hat wasn't enough on its own, she left a big, fat tip, too! ⚾️❤️
